I use to list to a dubstep a bit, but I get right into metal n rock genres, but other then that it's a little bit of everything.

Monarch!

I remember checking out Monarch and I just couldn't get into them. I love slow stuff like My Dying Bride, Grief, Eyehategod, Winter, etc. But that band took it to such an extreme where there seemed to be nothing there but waaaaayyyyy sllooooowwww guitar drones and feedback. I like Noise and stuff so that wasn't an issue. But in terms of "Doom Metal", they just didn't do it for me at all. I found them to be extremely boring. Emilie Bresson's vocals were really good, though.

I've lately been listening to a lot of female fronted doom/stoner rock, shoegaze and post rock.

Some recommendations:

Esben and the Witch
Emma Ruth Rundle
Marriages
Nordic Giants
Sunwølf
Exitmusic
2:54
Avatarium
Alunah
Black Mare
Black Math Horseman
Monarch!
Murkrat
Ides of Gemini

Sweet! I used to listen to a female fronted band called Cadaveria.
Also, not female fronted, but would you consider Katatonia or Moonspell to be Doom metal?

Katatonia is just straight up metal, to me, with a dark ambiance. Moonspell, I've always considered to be "goth metal" since they're theatric and their original stuff had that classic goth/death rock rhythm like the song Opium. My Dying Bride or Morgion is more like doom, imo.

I haven't given them too much of a listen yet, but what I heard seemed interesting...the kind of droney metal you listen to when napping. :P

In terms of music tastes, mine is kind of leaning towards punk rock/pop rock/indie kind of bands i.e. Bloc Party, Yellowcard, Modest Mouse, The Clash, Rise Against (although they're technically melodic hardcore, a genre I fancy as well), and so on. Generally things like that and alternative are stuff I would be caught listening to at any given time.

I like a bit of everything on the most part, but primarily lean towards Pop and Rock.

My taste of music is quite broad and full of variety, however I am NOT a fan of Country or R&B.  They just do little to get me moving or relaxing.  I think my top favorites encompass a triangle of Metal-Electric/Synth-Rap(very particular on which artists).  These three get me in a fun n fancy mood for just chilling, cleaning or working/working out :3!  I do enjoy 80's funk, Opera, Orchestral and Choir based music for soothing and just sinking into a relaxed state!

It really depends on my mood of the day/hour :3  and I try my best to not limit myself and try out new artists/genres but if it makes me bob-n-sway then I generally love it, even if it has idiotic lyrics or no lyrics at all :3

Depends on the mood / situation

Anytime I'd listen to heavy metal, nu metal, hard/Southern rock or maybe deathcore

Other times it can be drum and bass, hip hop, Ibiza chillout (yum) or other oddities (Yma Sumac being one of them)

As long as it's not pop I'm usually good ;)

Imo Pop use to be good for a time, or doable for others.. but it's def become so washed out and trashy/forgettable.  I miss the 80's now xP!

I can deal with some 'good' pop, generally older stuff (or P!NK) but I find it otherwise unbearable.

Sorry if this offends but boybands, ugh! Literally pop music's ugly baby. It saddens me as a musician and music lover.

shrug i used to listen to exclusively classical music in middle school and i was mean. i was not a nice person. then i started listening to rock.

idk nowadays i listen to all music. my favorite type of music is like low-fi folk music like kimya dawson or cyberbully mom club and also post-rock like sigur rós and irish folk music. but i listen to some very hard electronic music, rap (mostly nicki minaj!!), pop music (mostly taylor swift!!), old jazz, classic rock (not so much), etc.
