Twice today i have had a sharp pain in my left breast, didnt last more than a minute either time though, is this normal? anyone know what causes this? its not like the soreness i normally have, probably help if i say what stage of breast developement i am at, i am at tanner 2 with visible breast buds that are growing nicely, i will be leaving the county in a couple of days for a month so just a little concerned, to complicate matters im not yet under the care of a gic (my gp has done bloods etc for me) with my first gic appointment over a month away, hopefully this is normal and im just being silly worrying over nothing

Honestly, I would check it out with a doctor for sharp pains.  It's common to have soreness and some aches while growing breasts, but you also want to make sure you're okay too.  If you need to, you can go to a walk in clinic and have a breast exam.

With all that said, I've had sharp pain in my chest before which turned out to be nothing, but that was just my experience.  Hope everything goes well and turns out okay.

That doesn't sound normal. I've been on HRT for years now (36C and seem to still be growing!) and never felt a pain just like out of the blue from the girls. They can be tender to the touch or if bumped into something but I've never just been sitting there and been like "Owwie! What was that!". I guess I should clairify, it wouldn't be normal for me.

Since my original post i did a forum search and have seen mention of it by a few other people, also had a few hits on google but tended to be breastfeeding mothers that where experiencing it, i have since had it happen once more but on the other side this time, may see if i can get an appointment with my gp before i go abroad but just fear that being transgender it wont be something he is familiar with, funnily enough i had been worried at the lack of soreness for most of this last week

So I believe I felt what you described a couple times myself last night and the day before. My dose was increased recently though and I've had a few rapid developments lately and they both have gotten quite tender.

Personally I feel it is new growing tissue that simply pinched a nerve or something from the rapid growth recently. It helped to massage and haven't had it since but they are way more sensitive today. It wasn't a chest pain so I think I know just what you mean. I just had so many new sensations the last week or 2 that it didn't worry me especially since it didn't last or worsen

Let me know what you find out though I wasn't going to ask until my next appointment in a month unless something else developed

I am starting to think that maybe it was just growing related pains as they have been very sore this afternoon, will see what tomorrow brings and then decide what to do since the gp surgery is shut until monday now

To be sore or have very sensitive nipples somedays have been normal for me during the past year. However I've never experienced any sharp pains.

I get sometimes sharp pains when they are growing. I'd always assumed it was normal.

It's been more than 5 years since I started and I'm still alive, so that's promising.

I had occasional sharp pains despite *not* having serious soreness otherwise, interestingly enough. It was rare and quick, like you describe. And as AnonyMs says, I'm almost 5 years on HRT and alive so far. :)

Are you smoking? I smoked for the first few months of HRT, and was getting the types of pain you describe.

Not at the time no, at the time the last time I smoked was new years, I have since had a couple though while on holiday, kinda an occasional thing now since I gave up a couple of years ago
