Hello everyone!

I would like to recommend a manga series (manga means Japanese comic book) called IS - Otoko Demo Onna Demo Nai Sei. It is available to read online for free on various manga hosting websites.

It is a very touching manga series that explores intersexuality. However, upon re-reading the first two chapters last night, I realized the struggles of intersexuals can also be similar struggles non-binary and transgender individuals go through. It brought me to tears at the end of both chapters. Not just one or two drops, several tears flowed. The author has written the characters incredibly well - they may be 2D and on paper but they could be real people out there, just like you and me.

I encourage anyone to read this wonderful series. It's very underrated but it has taught me that no matter who you are or what genitals you do or don't have, you deserve to be treated with respect, you ARE worthy of being loved and accepted. Being IS, transgender or non-binary will never negate that - don't let anyone convince you otherwise!

Gothic Dandy

You might like a manga called After School Nightmare. The main character is also intersex, and goes to a mysterious after-hours class in which everyone enters a nightmare. It messes with the character's gender identity...I think he lives as a boy and becomes a girl in the nightmare, but I could just be remembering it wrong. Either way, I remember that there was a lot of familiar identity questioning and confusion involved.

Maybe I should read it again and get all the way through...
Just a little faerie punk floating through this strange world of humans.

Taka

after school nightmare is a terrible story about a child who at least appears to be intersex.
but it's also interesting, so i recommend it unless you easily get depressed from depressing stories.
