A pic taken tonight of me and my 17 year old Maine Coon.  He's a good old boy and loves falling asleep on my lap once I settle down in the recliner.

Today I walked my dog for a couple klicks around my neighborhood.   I wore a halter top and shorts.  He neither knew nor cared that for me that took courage.   He just got to go for a stroll around the area and sniff the city.   I just got to hang with my best four legged friend as I am.

Peace,
Julie

So awesome.  Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if everyone, all of us, had the freedom, without prejudice, to be who we are:  To take our four legged friends for a stroll without a concern in the world?

That's just great, JulieBLair.  WTG!

That's sweet!
Thank you.  He's just such a mellow old dude.  When his brother passed a few months ago he was bent out of shape for awhile.  Now he just clings on to me whenever I let him.

:) Yes, they watch us go in and out of the shower, and while we are self conscious often about ouselves, all they think is, "hurry it up, so we can play together"...  ;D

Indeed. Pets are so non-judgemental and that's why I love pets and preferred animals from a very young age. My cats love watching me shower lol.

I must admit though, the first time I started HRT my cats were visibly confused. They kept smelling me because I didn't smell like I used to. Eventually they got used to it.

Now that's a thought I hadn't considered.  I don't know if my old man will still be with me by the time I start HRT, but it will be interesting to see his reaction if he is.

My cat Simba loves to lay in my lap. He doesn't watch me shower but when I am using the bathroom he keeps bugging for attention. He is 7. We have had him since he was 4 months old. He is a bleesing to me. He doesn't care about my gender or what I look like or smell like. He just likes me for who I am. When I realized that it made me feel good. I wish humans did not care but they do and if they don't, they wind asking me alot of questions. I guess that is why I feel uneasy around people. I love my cat he is my best friend.

TheQuestion

First time I ever got all dressed up and everything, my cats and dog got all weirder out and totally had no idea it was me.  My cats are really friendly to myself and my mother and sister, but they take off when strangers are around.  They booked when I went to try and pet them.

My kitties have been more affectionate and closer since I started on my hormones. They come for cuddles more and they have even started sleeping between my legs at night.

I love them to bits and they are keeping me company while my fiance is away for a month!

and that's a totally adorable cat BTW...
Thank you.  He's an awesome old guy.  I'll fall apart for a few days when it comes his time.

It's interesting to read about everyone's different experiences with their pets' reactions.  My cat, Mr. Boogs, didn't skip a beat when I started back in being myself early this year - he wanted to be in my lap whether I was wearing jeans or a skirt.  Some evenings I have perfume on and that doesn't bother him a bit either.

I have two cats and my male is very cuddly and has always been. I thought they would react to changes in smell due to HRT but they didn't seem to care or notice. Behave like they always have had.

Looks like I may have spoken too soon, one of my kitties has disappeared :(

My dog doesn't really want much to do with me while I'm in male mode but as soon as I look feminine he's all over me for at least ten minutes or so but if I get up to do something he's back there again . It's a complete contrast
