I bought a binder from underworks recently. I always make sure to bind less than 10 hours and the longest I've worn was three days in a row. I always try to give myself a break and take it off as soon as I can. But, I looked in the mirror and notices thin bruises near the nipple on each of my breasts. three under and three above in the same spots on each breast. Is my binder too tight? Am I doing something wrong?

What size and model? Did you try and get two measurements, one from around the boobs and one around the part underneath them, add them and divide them by 2 to get your true size?

I got this http://www.f2mbinders.com/binding-tops/tanks/cotton-concealer-chest-binder  in a size small. I didn't get an exact measurement. But I'm pretty sure it's not too small because everyone always complains how hard it was to get their binder on for the first time but it was easy for me. Also, people complain about how if you take a deep breath it hurts but it doesn't for me.

Are you getting bruises elsewhere on your body?

Can you not bind while the bruises heal? Then bind again and see if bruises come back.

I'd be very extra careful since you're probably still growing.

I've checked my ribs and my back and I don't see bruises anywhere else. Of course I want to be careful and not cause myself any harm but I'm going to school currently and I'm not really comfortable not wearing a binder. I wore a sports bra two days in a row and then wore a binder today for an hour or two and it looked to me like the bruises were getting better but then got worse. I don't know if that was in my head or not. But is that a common thing to get bruises there? I can't find anyone else saying that.

Did you measure yourself before you ordered?  I know they always say to measure before you order.

I haven't heard of bruises like that, but that doesn't mean anything.
Any way you could get a slightly larger binder?

I mean I could try asking my mother but I'm not so sure she would agree to getting me another. I honestly don't think it's too small but being that it's my first one what do I really know.

Sometimes if you rearrange your breasts after you have it on, you can change or stop the bruising.

Please be gentle with yourself.

What's the best way to have them inside the binder?

It differs from person to person. I think most, including me, prefer downward and to the outside.

In the beginning I did upwards and out from a video I saw. That's when I started to get bruises. Recently I've started putting them down and out. Although the bruises haven't gone away completely I don't really think they are getting worse anymore. Sorry for late response I've been really sick but thanks everyone for your imput (:
