Anybody else into Airline photography, would love to chat about it.

I like commercial aircraft and the many different paint schemes out there.  The new Southwest livery is interesting but the Air New Zealnd is really classy.

I'm about 3km from the end of the longer runway at Melbourne Airport (no curfew) and love sitting there watching the planes come in while drinking a coffee in the morning, then when they're taking off later in the afternoon over a glass of wine.

Got a few pics on my sigma 120-300, even dragged out my old 600mm last summer and I could almost see the people on the a380's.

I might on the next really sunny day get it out again.
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

Oh I grew up spotting since I was 8. it really has been the one staple of my life that I've held onto through transition. sometimes it was the only thing i had left in bouts of depression and made for a good distraction from my dysphoria a couple of times... luckily though i never made a name for myself until after paperwork was corrected, so nobody knows about my past, just as it should be. I've got a couple thousand photos on flicker, but ive kinda grown out of air for space photos as one of only a privileged few to have credentials at the launches...

I've always loved all aspects of Aviation and had my eyesight been better I would definitely have been a Pilot. I grew up learning every scrap of info I could find on aircraft mostly Military but some Civilian. Now years later I'm trying to learn the basics of Photography so I decided that aircraft would be a good subject to practice on  ;D

I spent 6 hours at Sydney Airport on Monday taking photo's and going through them yesterday I found an Air NZ 787 Dreamliner in All Blacks Livery. If it was allowed I'd share it with you  :) I had no idea Air NZ even had Dreamliners until I saw this photo I took.

I'm new to photography also, I have a Nikon D5200, and I'm really happy with it; what kind of camera do you have?

I've got a Cannon EOS5D MK 2, It's a nice camera but learning all the features can be confusing at times. Then we have all the lenses, That confuses me even more. As I'm struggling with manual focus due to my vision I've learnt auto focus is possibly the best for me.

How is your learning going?

Hugs
