Name change question

My supervisor  suggested Friday that I legally change my name to a female name and I agree.  It's time to do it. So I'm going to legally change it to Christine.  Does anyone know if I need to change it in the state where I was born or the state where I currently reside?  I don't live in my birth state.

The state in which you reside, they will usually notify your birth state.
