What do you do to prepare for your day.?
Do you have a special time you meditate for a few minutes in the morning.?
Maybe a routine that helps you get ready for your day.?
Spend a few minutes in a favorite place every morning.?
Say a prayer.?

Please share.

For me, I try to go outside at sunrise, just close my eyes, take in the sounds and smells of the morning,
and say some short prayers for people I've been thinking about, and repeat several times some positive sayings about myself,
that I try and remember during the day. Like today, I said to myself during a sunrise when the birds were starting to call,
"I am ready for this day", "I will be ME no matter what anyone thinks", "I am the person I was made to be", "I will do something good for others today", etc.
It really does help me have a better day than I would otherwise.

If I have my alarm set, I usually try to wake up before my alarm goes off. Since I am deaf, I have to put a vibrate-awake alarm under my pillow and if it wakes me up, it usually puts me in a grumpy mood straight away. But if I wake up beforehand, I feel pretty pleased with myself to avoid being jerked violently awake by the buzzing.

I brush my teeth and wash my face to wake myself up, then I usually open all the curtains upstairs, to let the sunshine in. If the cats are curled up on the bed, I will pat them and say hello to them, maybe even cuddle with them on the bed for a few minutes if I am feeling down.

Pets are wonderful for getting me to start the day in a relaxed manner. :)

Usually get up, go to bathroom,  while looking 8n mirror, say to myself "good morning gorgeous"...
Sometimes do that in the eevining too.

I take a long shower every morning. Some times close to an hour. Sort through my thoughts and feelings. Just try to relax and not stress about anything.

What do you do to prepare for your day.?

1. Do one post-op dilation routine. While I'm flat on my back I use an electric cordless shaver to shave my face.
2. Eat breakfast a mouthful of cereal at a time while I get dressed and put on jewelry.
3. Put on makeup so no one sees my beard shadow
4. Brush teeth and put on wig.
5. Check my email and read posts here until it's time to go to work.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

One thing I really enjoy doing every morning is spending some time with my Siberian Huskies while I am still lying in bed. To me there is nothing like being warmed up on a cold day before I head into the office, and having 4 dogs curled up all around me in the morning warming me up is awesome :)

On a perfect day?

  • Wake up early
  • Shower
  • Old Spice overcompensatingly
  • Choose the perfect outfit
  • Protein shake, cup o' joe
  • Knock out a good 1-2hrs of early morning errands before work
and then I can spend the rest of the day feeling like a hot potato of productivity.

... in reality?

  • Oversleep
  • Dunk head in the shower for some semblance of style
  • Play a rousing game of gender-roulette with my outfit and hope for the best
  • Accidentally lose like 45 mins to the black hole of the internet
  • No breakfast
  • Speed to work
  • Show up a cool 5 mins late

I'm, uh, still working on it.  :P

Normally the schedule I strive for is:
get up
eat breakfast (generally a little bit of cereal or a muffin)
check email, social media and susan's
shave any body hair that laser and hormones haven't dealt with yet that needs dealing with.
shower
take medication and apply estradiol patch (twice a week)
dress
makeup
put on wig
get my disabled mom up and ready for the day (if I haven't already had to do so)
check email, social media, and susan's again (time allowing and generally it isn't allowing.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Wake up around 5.30ish
do a quick check of emails, social media.
throw on my jogging gear, grab the dog (for shorter runs) and go for a run.
depending on the weather, day or what I've done in the last week I can jog for around 2km to 8km.
Get home, loo, shower/bath.
Make breakfast - eat.
Call mum.
make up (or at least BB cream) & get dressed.

Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

I take a long shower every morning. Some times close to an hour.

How does that work? Wouldn't you run out of hot water?

Wake up
Give Portia a hug and a kiss
Take Portia into the living room
Brush my teeth
Shave
Take my pills
Brush my hair
Figure out what I'm going to do that day

This is why I have a tankless water heater.

It's nice to have little friends, too, isn't it?  I once went 10 years without a little bear, and those were some pretty crappy years for me.  Now we have like a hundred little friends and it's much better.

Well, especially Portia. She's very special to me.

I absolutely must browse the net for any amount of time in the morning.  A shower isn't necessary and I can always have one the evening before, but they're good at waking me up.  I definitely have to wash my face and take my meds.

Those are the most important things anyway.
