Still tight after 3 months of dilation.

Hello, new here!  :D

It's been three months since I got my operation and I have been following said schedule (as my surgeon gave)
10 minutes with the 'small', 20cm. (Use 15cm)
50 minutes with the 'big one', 20cm. (Use 15cm)

Although I usually skip the small one and just use the large one for 1 hour twice per day.
Thing is, I still feel kind of tight.

My surgeon only gave me two 'staves' - my question is, do I need to go even bigger to be satisfied later with the result, or is it just that I am swollen now or something?
I look at what others have said and they say they've got four etc.

Oh! Also, has anyone experienced hip pains when dilating? or after? I've been having pains in my right hip-back area ever since I began dilation. (I am a very careful person, I take things slow) but I still end up in pain.  :(

Sorry for my not so perfect english, I am swedish. ^^;;

I recently had Dr Tolby Meltzer perform my procedure.

Dilating was as follows...
1st day (at my hotel in Phoenix Az.) - 5 times at 15 minutes each. Then for the next month, 4 times a day at 15 minutes each. Third month, 3 times a day. Now, at the end of my third month, I only need to dilate for 2 times a day, still for 15 minutes each. And I am having no issues with pain.

I should however mention that this was my second procedure. My initial SRS last year done by a different doctor. It turned out very bad and the pain got worse and worse until eventually I actually closed up, even with attempts to dilate on schedule.

My take away, at least for me, it makes a difference who and how the SRS is performed.

Best of luck. I hope things improve for you.

Do you know if this surgeon has had any complaints about this from others? ???

Actually, my local GP said that 3 months is about when the scar tissue starts to form and then tighten up (this is true for most major surgeries, not just GRS). So increasing tightness and discomfort at the 3-4 month mark is normal. He recommended very gently massaging the internal scar tissue twice a day; put a couple fingers inside to the point of tightness and rub lightly for 3-5 minutes. This doesn't have to be part of dilation, though it can be - you can do it in the shower like I did, for example. I also don't know what size dilators you have or could safely use, but I had a set of four.

I never had hip pains... sorry.

I also think a lot of the tightness and discomfort girls experience comes from the scar tissue as well...i don't think its just about relaxing the PC muscle we hear about.

I'm using the dilators from De Chettawut - measured as
#1 ~ 22mm diameter
#2 ~ 25mm
#3 ~ 28mm
#4 ~ 31.5mm

Currently I use #1 10 min, #2 another 10 min, #3 for 15-20 min and #4 for 15-20 min. Both morning and evening. Whilst #1 and #2 easily slide to max depth - #3 and #4 are slightly less - which us normal as the vagina has to deform around a larger surface area.

The tightest is clearly #4 but not painfully so. I may try to get a soul source dilator set (nite their #2 is the same as Chettawut #4!) so that I can go slightly wider but I'm not planing an adult performer career.

I use some round beanbag cushions to help support knees and keep hips open during dilation. This allows me to relax more.

There are some hormonal creams which a gyno should know about which can help soften the scar tissues inside. I know one lady who uses this and it helps - but I don't know the name.

If you get the chance to more regularly dilate for a few days (eg a long weekend) it will help

I suggest anyone who has GCS to use Zen And The Art Of Post-Operative Maintenance
as reference material.

Maintain things comes with time that we must put in.

Tightness is all part of the process that in time will relax.

Definitely agree.

If I relax with music (deuter, reiki tribe, peter forester, your favorite relaxation brand), the time passes and dilators slide easily. If I sit there reading emails / writing on Susan's and trying to do things - then I'm naturally tighter.

The post operative schedule eats into our days - so try to use it for meditation and "dozing sleep". It can be quite healing and restorative.
