And what would be wrong with a guy having a pink room Nicole? My room as a teenager was a kind of burnt pink colour, and it was awsome. But then again, I was hardly any good at being a guy anyway :icon_suspicious:

But if one of my sons wants a pink room, good on him, he'll get a pink room

Did I say there was anything wrong with it?

He was as straight as you can get, just had a pink room which he hayrd
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

No you didn't so I'm sorry Nicole, I became defensive of the colour pink and I shouldn't have. I really liked my room as a teenager, that's all.  :icon_flower:

We didn't sleep together did we? That could have been me you know, I mean I was pretty convincing, straight as a winding road you could say ;D

It looks lovely on you, Misato.

Daww, thanks! :)

I forgot. A clerk told me once, "I love how much pink you wear! It makes me happy!" That was a cool moment.

Meh, go back a couple of hundred years and you'll see they dressed boys in pink and girls in blue. There is no such thing as gendered colours it's a social construct. Use whatever colour appeals to you.

Thanks Ms. Grace for your excellent advice. It's something I'll always remember, and maybe something I'll point out to my sister
casually.

You don't have to wear pink. But I think pink is wonderful!

You should express yourself in any way that you want to! If you like pink, you should wear pink! And Suzi, I'm really gonna try and take on the same attitude that you have! ;D
I love pink so much! Especially pastel pink, I love pastel colours!

My favourite colour is actually seafoam green. I love all pastels and blue-green colours.
But pastel pink is probably my second favourite colour! I wear it all the time. :)

Nobody should be afraid of pretty colours.
I've actually tried other colors, but due to my complexion, pink just looks best on me.  :)

pink looks punk on me when I wear it right.
the color doesn't make you feminine, but matching your colors well can.
That's an excellent idea there Taka. So either way I go, I'll just have to watch which way I wear pink with my ensemble.  :)

BTW, FrancisAnn, that's a very lovely pink you're wearing in your avatar.  :) And Suzi, I'm gonna try and take on the same attitude that you have ;D

I'm not very feminine (in this particular sense). If I had a very obvious female body, long hair, and makeup on, you'd definitely see a woman as my body language and gestures are far from masculine, but I don't see myself ever wearing dresses, lace and pumps. I do happen to like pink, though! It really complements my skin tone. I wear far more black and red, though. I wear pink when I'm feeling a bit more "girly" than usual. It's all very psychological, though. It's a standard color for girls, as blue is for boys. But as others have said, just wear whatever the heck you want! If you go overkill then maybe that's just what you were going for! :P

I like pink, purple and lavender; and have shirts in those colors.  :) :) They have not been just female colors for several years.

Unless you're in Melbourne, I don't think so.

He was living with 3 mates, he was also the last to move in after a female moved out but the room was pink before they all moved in and she got the room on the account that she was the female and pink is for girls.
after about 6 months she moved out and he moved in, asked the landlord if he could paint it and he said "no way in hell".
So he was stuck with it, his pick up line inc. "do you wanna see my pink room"

In the wrong context / shade / etc., it's obsequiously feminine.

In context, it can be nice. Certainly not necessary.

I don't think color defines gender at all. So to me pink doesn't equal feminine even though probably 99% of the people thinks so.
I am male because I say so and nothing more.
I don't have to look or act like one therefore.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on this.

Thanks for the excellent advice! As said I'm gonna start taking stock of my life and stop letting people run my life for me and just do what I feel is best for me!
I think she may have just been letting you know that you don't have to adhere to stereotypes to appear feminine.

That's a good idea there, and I don't really adhere to that many stereotypes to express my being a woman.

Hi Bree;
Yes getting ones colour analysis is probably the very best investment a Trans woman can make. I had mine down in the UK in 2008 whilst in the UK for an extended period. Since then I use my colour swatch and make up colour chart for choosing all my outfits and makeup. Its definitely important for passing. For instance I am an Autumn person in my skin tones and  a couple of colours of lipstick, nail varnish and eye make up make all the difference in passing. When I am dressed I also look coloured coordinated and people constantly remark on nice shoes, lovely handbag, or you look great with that coordinated top and skirt, or I love the colour of your matching lipstick and nails. I get the complements all the time and of course I don't let on that I have this secret bible my colour swatch which is in my handbags for every shopping trip. Once I had done my colour analysis, I gave away all my items of clothing that were just the wrong colours for me and I haven't looked back. In the IK it was called House of Colour and it cost me just UK Pounds 120 for a very nice day. It was worth every penny and more so.

Well I think pink is feminine but not only that it is a relaxing color. It's a non conflicting or a non violent color. Why do you the sheriff in So AZ makes the prisoners wear pink underwear? Some prisons and jails were experimenting with pink walls because it is a soothing color. I personally love the color pink especially mixed with white.

Hi KiraD;
Yes that's the company;
As I said its the best investment  a woman under transition can ever make as I am always getting great complements since I did the day session on my clothes and makeup and colour coordination. In fact I have just three lipsticks that are accurately matched to my skin colour and three OPI nail colours that are similarly matched.

Hehe that's really cool :D  out of curiosity - how trans* friendly are they?  Do you think they'd be open to discussing female colour schemes even if I present in guy-mode? ♥︎

Hi Kira;

I went to a lady in Exmouth, but unfortunately she is no longer there. The new woman lives in Totnes in Devon. I explained that I was TS and undergoing a sex change and that I was living as a woman part time. She decided to have a 1 on 1 session with me and so I presented as a woman. She was really nice and we did the full work up.

I guess is that it depends on the Agent, but I don't think they would do it if you presented as male.

Yesterday my biological sister noticed that I like the color pink. It is what makes up most of my nail polish's. I have a lot of different tones of pink, and she told me that to be feminine doesn't mean that I have to wear pink, and I wear pink sneakers as well. Any comments . . .
I don't know what's been said here already but, "pink" is now a days considered feminine and only now are some guys (Who I assume aren't gay) starting to wear pink however, the truth of the matter is, back in like the 1800's guys did wear pink. It was never considered girly for them to wear pink and both genders whore pink.

My wife lets me paint my toes any colour but Pink. That's crossing the line for her acceptance as she always says it's too "girly" for a "man" to paint them that colour. :( At least she lets me paint them without conflict. :) So, to her, Pink is too feminine. It's a colour. I certainly have yet to find a definition of "too feminine" that fits my liking.

When the cats away though, you can be certain those toes are as pink as pink can be. ;)

I think that's unfair of your wife to forbid you from painting your toe nails in pink. If you're trying to be a WOMAN, then I'd say to her that you should be able to wear pink. I've stuck to my guns and I haven't let my sister's comments affect me so she's stopped making her remarks!  ;D ;D ;D
