When I'm out an about an see someone taller than me I wish I was sociable enough to stop them and ask where the hell they shop

Thanks for the kind words, Pikachu and April Lee!  I do have my moments of contentment with my presentation, but sometimes, I just see too many masculine markers, and height is one of them.  Bit, you are right, there are many beautiful tall girls these days.

And, today is my 2-month anniversary for starting HRT.  So, I am optimistic that I will lose enough muscle to make up for my height with a more feminine torso!

I'm 5'' 8 1/2", size 10 women's shoes. My hands are okay, long thin fingers with nails. I just had a bowl of ice cream and weighed myself this morning at 178. Which means I need to lose 30 lbs. all done by dieting because of my injuries. I was thin my entire life until the last 14 years, because of a botched knee replacement and MRSA, a terrible staph infection.

P.S. Although I haven't been going to the mall much because of how bad my hip and back are, everywhere I go I see other women and teenage girls in flats taller than me, at 5' 8 1/2" and my 3-4" heels. I always wear heels, because it puts my back at a different, less painful angle. I think it's great that my doctor says if you hurt less, wear heels.
These three years have been the best of my entire life
ones I've been able to live without lying
and the only time I've had since the age of twelve
I haven't constantly thought about dying

I'm 6'0" tall, weigh about 165 lbs and wear a size 10.5 shoe (US). My torso is really long and my inseam is only 32".

It's annoying to say the least when it comes to trying to find something to wear. For some reason regular size pants are always just a little too short, but the tall pants I'm almost always stepping on.

As for tops, often they are too short (especially the cute ones!), which I guess I can make work when paired with some really high rise pants. If I go a size up I can usually find the right length, but then I'm practically swimming in it.

And then finding shoes that fit is just as much of a pain. Rarely do stores carry a 10.5. It's usually either 10s or 11s. Which means I'm hunting through both sections looking for a large 10 that doesn't cut the circulation off to my toes, or a small 11 that doesn't constantly slip off my foot. Arrrgh!

Don't get me wrong though, all those frustrations aside I still love shopping :) It just can take a while before I score a great find.

Oh to be under 6', although 6'3 is not going to stop me.

5'8 (might be 5'8.5), 220 lbs currently. I tried a "find your shoe size" method with tape measure and it says my size in women's is 7.5, but that sounds a bit small?

I'm 5' 9" and 230 lbs. and I still pass pretty well.  I notice troublemakers tend to give me a wide berth, though!

I have the same size feet as Elle Macpherson, who I met in 2010 she is heaps nice in real life and very pretty. She is a size 12 US and I currently own a pair of shoes she had when she was in Australia visiting. Long story short my sister in law knows her family and she stayed on their property for the weekend and left them there. When they went to send them back to her she said just keep them for me. She never took them back so I "permanently borrowed" them. They fit pretty perfectly with a bit of toe room to wiggle in. I like to think if she can pull of big feet any of us can.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

6'1" here. It used to bother me, being tall and all, but I've learned to embrace it. In fact, now I think I'd rather be tall!

I am 6 ft tall and also the tallest in my family with size 10 to 11 feet (depending on the brand) I walk the streets and see many women as tall as me and guys who tower over me. My height gives me security though so it doen't bother me.

6' even, size 10 shoes.  I used to think I was size 11 until I started actually shopping instead of scavenging clothes like a wardrobe vulture.  I was pleased to discover I was actually 10 and that means that many (not all, but many) shoes actually come in my size occasionally!  Thrift store shoe racks mock me mercilessly however.

I'm far less self conscious about my height now than I used to be... until I walk into a room of average height women who I don't know... then I kind of hunch down subconsciously...

My boss at work is cis and she's almost my height, it's actually quite comforting.

Try to avoid hunching. I have a 6'+ lady friend that hunched all her life and her presentation has taken a negative hit because of it. I really admire tall women who stand up straight and stick their chests out, it just speaks loudly of how proud and self assured they really are and it comes off as so incredibly attractive. If you hunch, you hurt your posture and attract the visual attention of others to you're insecurity.

I am just beginning but worry some about my 6' height; the greater concern is my size 12 (Men's, US) feet. The great news is that when it comes to SRS, depth won't be a problem. Gotta look at the bright side.

You know what they say.... "Big hands, big feet.............................................. Big shoes, big gloves"

What were you thinking (lol!)?

I'm 5'8" so not sure where that falls in the cis female catagory.  My brother is 6'1" so I feel quite short when we go places together.  I guess it's a good thing, I don't know.

I'm 5'8". My height has never been an issue for me; I like it a lot. I wouldn't like being short, nor being excessively tall. It's kind of right in between, and I've seen plenty of natal women at my height. ;D

Now my US 10 1/2 shoe size (in men's) leaves something to be desired.... >:( I haven't even bothered looking for shoes in the stores yet; it's hard as heck to find anything decent for my size feet. >.>

I have long narrow feet at 5 ' 7" with a men's size 9 I find that women's narrow size 10.5 sometimes 11 depending on Mfg. fit perfectly and corresponds with a men's C width which is my size.

All this talk of shoe size has made me curious what the actual size of my feet are. Where am I supposed to measure from and how does that correlate to women's shoe sizes? I've only ever worn men's, and being poor, I stick with one pair until they completely wear out and I'm forced to buy another. I don't think any of the sizes have been consistent.

Get your feet measured in a shoe department and ask what size they recommend in both men's and women's shoes for your tootsies!
Generally when selecting women's shoes go two sizes up from what you wear in men's.

Shantel, are you sure about this?  I used to wear a 5 1/2 or 6 in men's shoes, but I've never come close to buying a 7 1/2 or an 8 in women's.  Sizes vary a lot, depending on the manufacturer, but the biggest size I've ever bought was a 6.  I've bought 5 and 5 1/2, and recently actually bought a pair of ankle boots that were a 4.

Nothing like trying them on before you buy.  It's for this reason that I'd never buy shoes on line.
