So it's recommended to have consultations with several surgeons before deciding on one, but it doesn't get easier if they recommend different procedures.
These are the FFS proposals I have received so far:
Dr van de Ven:
Forehead recontouring, hairline recountouring and browlift
Chin/jaw recontouring (shorten chin with app. 8 mm)
Midfacelift (including lower eyelid blepharoplasty and lipofilling nasolabial folds) + canthopexie
Upper eyelid surgery
Rhinoplasty alarwedge
Dr Chettawut:
Forehead/ brow ridge bone contouring done together with brow lift and scalp advancement
Upper eyelid surgery
Lip lifting surgery
Feminizing rhinoplasty + alarplasty
Optional: jaw/chin contouring, full face and/or neck lift
Dr Cardenas:
Type III Forehead Bone Reconstruction (includes a hairline advancement and a lifting of the eyebrows for those patients that need it)
Rhinoplasty
Cheek implants
Osteotomy of the chin
Upper eyelid lift
I wonder, is Cardenas known for aggressive work? I'm really surprised that he thinks I need type III forehead reconstruction. Dr van de Ven said my face is already feminine (I don't have a lot of problems with passing so I was more or less aware of that, but despite of that I still feel that I need FFS and mostly rejuvenation). He said he could improve things if I wanted to, but I doubt that he had type III for forehead in mind.
Cardenas recommends cheek implants. I don't like the thought of implants in my face. The midfacelift + lipofilling etc. that dr van de Ven recommends seems something I could really benefit from. I think I prefer rejuvenating procedures and mild FFS opposed to aggressive FFS with less rejuvenation (Cardenas?). I also don't want a completely new face. I don't even want another nose! Fine-tuning okay but nothing dramatic. I think dr van de Ven understands what I need best. I felt he really looked at my face as a whole and wants to bring balance and not so much create something I'm not, if that makes any sense. He also paid attention to details more than other drs and when my bf asked about some procedure he could have sold it to us but he said I really didn't need that. His po patients also look natural which I like. Besides all that, we both liked the man. He's the only one we had a consultation irl with. The other ones are by e-mail.
I'm still waiting for proposals of Suporn, Facial Team and Di Maggio. To make things even more complicated lol.
I'm not really sure how to take it from here. All I can think of is listend to my gut feeling lol, but I'm not sure if that's a wise thing to do. I can look at before/afters of the surgeons. What else can I do at this point? I don't know how to visualise how my face will look just by reading which procedures they recommend.
If anyone has anything to say about what these surgeons recommended and how it all compares, or what kind of work they are known for then please do. In the mean time I'll wait for the other proposals.
