Our union bargaining team met with the UC Administration Thursday and Friday, July 27 and 28. We had productive exchanges over several important topics. However, much more progress is needed for us to achieve our goal of getting a strong new contract by September 30 (the expiration date of the current contract). We made progress in strengthening our non-discrimination rights; the administration's latest proposal was responsive to ours, including protections against discrimination due to pregnancy and gender identity.
