Everything is set! Although, I want everyone to know (whoever is having surgery with Dr Chettawut) that
info@chet-plasticsurgery.com is down temporarily which explains why Ms Som haven't been receiving some of my emails. So if you're trying to contact them, either call between 10am - 4pm (Thailand Local Time) or send an email to
chettawut@gmail.com.
I have spoken to Ms Som yesterday over the phone and everything is paid for and set. My surgery is on Nov. 1st, I'll be the first patient that they'll operate on, and I'm quite ecstatic! This was a journey! Considering I had to get my passport and before that, I had to get a replacement for my lost U.S Citizenship documents which took about 6 months then about 2 weeks for my passport to come in mail. Other than those two documents, all referrals should address directly to Dr. Chettawut: one referral must come from either psychiatrist or licensed psychologist and the other referral can be issued from many sources which are psychiatrist or licensed psychologist or sexologist or gender therapist with the WPATH guidelines. Lots of money had to be spent on that as well.
Once those signed recommendation letters were made, scanned and sent them to Ms Som then I had to do 5 types of blood test CBC, Anti-HIV, BUN & CR, PT & PTT, and FBS. Once that was done, Ms Som and Dr Chettawut approved me as healthy with no underlying diseases or illnesses. Then I had to send in my Chest X-Ray results as well as the images.
Before all those were sent, I paid the full amount of the surgery then prior to 2 weeks after getting the surgery date from Ms Som, I bought my ticket ahead of time since flight tickets were cheaper. I chose to stay at the bangkok rama hotel and also brought extra money just in case for skin graft and other things like food.
Ms. Som and a few friends have recommended that I do not bathe or shower while Im in Thailand because the water there is unsafe and it'll be too risky as an infection might occur.
I want to thank the women here and some chat sites for useful information about what I have to be aware of after surgery and what type of clothes to wear and what to eat and not eat after surgery. I will also be making a testimony and the things I have experienced throughout this journey. It wasn't an easy task. Being on HRT for 16 years and now Im almost 30 and going through the ups and downs in life. But I have no regrets! It was all worth it. Through psychological evaluations, this surgery was not something I could just do, it's something that was thoroughly thought of and what consequences I have to partake in for the rest of my life.
There will be pain and I haven't been taking hormones since last month. Haven't taken any pills or having any sugar consumption because the fact I'm trying my best to not screw or delay this surgery due to any type of sickness or illness that may occur.
Well this is it for now. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!
