Okay so I'm super excited!!!
I got my TriTop this week. In a stellar moment of terrible timing, I also hit my period, so my breasts were super tender. (Yes, that's a huge reason I want to pursue top surgery ASAP, but that's a different topic, yeah?)
On Friday nights I teach Martial Arts classes. Usually, I wear protective equipment on my breasts called Turtle Shells. They're similar to a cup that guys wear, with a sports bra they slip into. Today, however, I decided to go ahead and wear my new binder. (I wanted to teach low-impact stuff, so no chance of injury)
Okay, WOW.
First, a few things: I have had it on for four hours and I am still comfortable. This is excellent news as I had been told to start by wearing it an hour at a time. I thought I would be way less comfortable. Also, just like when I pack, I felt different (better) even though none of my students noticed or mentioned anything. Lastly, I folded my arms over my chest at one point while watching the class work and OMG, my boobs weren't in the way. I felt NORMAL.
Okay, so the moment: So our school shares a bathroom/locker room with this nail place next door. Its a new setup and we don't really know any of the employees. So after class I went into the women's locker room to change, as I always have. I haven't made any medical changes and I'm not out to the whole school, so I haven't pursued using the men's room. (yet) I was actually taking a few selfies in the mirror of me in my gi with a flat chest and in walks one of the nail ladies. She jumped, said "Oh!" and actually ran out of the locker room to check the sign on the door. It took me a moment to understand her confusion. When I did, I felt like a million bucks. Except for the awkwardness when she came back in. But seriously, whatever. So worth it. I can't wait for more chances to wear it in public!!!
