Spiro is a diuretic and anti hypertensive and progesterone has mild anti hypertensive/diuretics effects. Anyone else having issues with vertigo, postural hypotension, tunnel vision and generally low blood pressure? My BP was 99/66 today and pulse 114. I was so weak and dizzy I had to leave work after two hours today. I'm also suffering from a general lack of energy. Anyone have any advice? I need to make an appt. with my PCP but before that I thought I would ask since most of us here are in the same situation I am as far as being on hormones.

I'm at a greater risk for dehydration since having bariatric surgery and living in the dry climate of Alaska but I think this is more than low volume.

Stop taking the Spiro until you can see your medic. It won't have any effect on your transition but your BP should come back to normal.

WN you are a well informed professional.  Your history and symptoms, including orthostatic hypotention, suggest a transition wherein you may wish to get up slowly and drink a ton of fluids and electrolytes to compensate.  You do present a complicated profile with alterations for absorption but, you know; follow your labs while your vital signs need to be seen in context to your personal normals.
For all we know you could be WNL (we never looked).  Just kidding but i do hope you check in with your care team.  We have seen a number of other girls reporting similar experiences here and that is still anecdotal.  One heck of an adjustment eh?

Definitely NWL. I had a DX of benign essential HTN before my weight loss and still ran a wee bit high even being under my goal weight. I may ask to cut the Spiro down but I'd rather not give up completely since I do want to be on an AA of some sort.

I'm thinking the best course is to push fluids as much as I can and see what happens. If I'm still having the orthostatic hypotension then I'll definitely look into halving the spiro dose.

Thank you both for your input.  ;)
