I sound like a girl. Period.

Okay so be nicer, PLEASE HELP! I sound like a female or a little boy when I decide to not talk as high pitched. I learned to talk like a guy by copying many men I hear at work, actually great practice, and I control my pitch and tone but when I get excited I sound feminine asf. Like either I'm female or little boy! I mean when I control my tone I get sir. When I don't, I get ma'am. When I am calling out, I am ma'am and when I'm suddenly excited and laughing I get ma'am as well. Basically, I only get sir/young man when I'm collected and controlling of my voice and aware and not laughing.

I heard of Eva M, but idk. I'm scared to try it cause what if it doesn't work? Does it? I don't wanna "boom my voice" as I've heard that messes up vocal cords also. I will be pre-t for a while so I am trying to help as much as I possibly can. I pass as male without a binder cause I'm flat-chested (great! ;D), I wear a packer when in public such as mall or city, not a work cause I'm wearing womens jeans atm, and when I wear contacts and sunglasses or a hat, can't tell! But when I open my mouth, nope. Female.

Any help on this? I would love any help to make myself sound like the guy I look like. Help!

There are two programs Eva M Breathe and Eva M Pitch. I don't know whether they would work. They are $5 each which may be a lot depending on your situation. I think they are safe to use, because the person who developed them is a speech therapist, who knows about voice. But without T there is only so much you can do. Some FAAB bodied  have naturally lower voices which makes the whole thing a lot easier.

This might not be what you want to hear, but it sounds like you've already figured out how to up the odds of people not misgendering you based on voice.

Getting consistently - or even less than consistently - read as male pre-T is more difficult for some guys than others. Some guys say it is/was impossible for them.
For people going another direction - MTF - vocal training requires a lot of work and attention, particularly when they first start they have to pay extra attention to speak in a different voice than they're accustomed to. With practice it becomes more of a habit, but it's not easy.

You could practice in private, speaking with control. As for the laughing, at least in my observation, with many guys it's more of a "heh", maybe a grin, and that's that. You could try that out the next time something is funny and see how it goes for you.
