I set up a new OkCupid account, this time as a woman. Not sure why I hadn't done that already. I have five likes so far, though! No matches yet, but still.

Spoke to someone on the phone. I didn't say my name or anything to indicate me or who I was and they called me ma'am from the off. As my voice is what I'm most concerned about in passing that really made me smile!

@emma-f

Yes, indeed, SMILE !!!
That is terrific news... very self assuring and confidence building for sure.
Are you in any kind of voice therapy?
Thanks for reporting your happy news.

I told my parents that I'd like to see a therapist and they're going to pay for me to. One of the perks of still being on their insurance, I guess. Here's to hoping we can get me on hormones quickly.

Also talked to my beautiful trans friend and found out that she never got FFS, which makes me extremely hopeful that HRT will have the same kind of results for me. You would never guess she was trans if you didn't know her before. She looks more "like a woman" than even some cis women. Not that there's a specific way for women to look... you know what I mean. Hormones just did wonders for her is all I'm saying.

@4A GZE
This is wonderfull news, please keep us updated regarding your future plans and goals.
HRT does not work the exact same way for everyone.  It is up to your body and your genes.  Some individuals will respond more quickly with more significant results and some may respond more slowly with less significant results.

What you read about others experiences will most likely not be exactlyl like yours.
As we say here, Your Mileage May Vary.
One thing is for sure, patience is required... HRT usually does not change your body quickly but it will make changes.  There will be times of successes and times of disappointments and frustrations... again PATIENCE is required.

We are here to rejoice with you in your good times and to support you in your not so good times.
I will be looking for more of your postings in the future.

@4A-GTE
Be careful out there in the online dating world....  proceed slowly and carefully, because OKCupid is a free site there could possibly be a few of nut-cases and stalkers there like any other dating site.... also some nice people there too but you have to have discernment and watch for red flags.
Never give out your contact information and if you meet make sure it is in a public place preferably mid-day daylight hours.

Be Careful, Be Safe.... and be sure to let your friends know where you are at all times... and even arrange to get a "rescue" cell phone call in the middle of your meeting so you can bail out if need be.

Thanks for the advice and whatnot!
I'll definitely be careful out there. I owe all my relationships to online dating, though. I feel pretty confident that I have the hang of it. One of my rules is that we always video chat before meeting, just to be sure I'm talking to the same person as the pictures.

Also, holy crap, I'm up to 45 likes as of this morning! I only had 17 as a man. I nearly tripled that in 12 hours just by being me.

I had a wonderful day with one of my daughters in SF. We are in the middle of our Roadtrip that started in LA and will also finish there.

I wish I could do this more often [emoji3][emoji41]

I finally have an appointment set up! I have to wait about a month, but still. The only downside is I'm not 100% sure my dad understood what I was looking for. Years ago I told him I wanted to see someone about gender identity, and that just sort of fizzled out without happening. So about a month ago, I told him I still wanted to see someone about "that stuff" and he said he would look into it. The person I'm going to see next month has good reviews and seems like a great therapist, but she doesn't specialize in transgender issues.

I never thought I'd say this but I bought a tractor today and it's super cool.

Now I need some denim overalls and a straw hat to make it official  ;D

Excellent Colleen!  A girl can certainly have a tractor if she wants one.   (singing the "green acres" theme)

But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

Try them out. If they have good reviews, I wouldn't worry too much. As long as they aren't prejudiced and they are competent ,you should be good.
Mine was listed as LGBT friendly, but not trans specialist

thank you all, really
this is something that only happened in my dreams, I'm quite shocked myself :D

my fiance doesn't really know much about this kind of stuff, He knew what the ring meant to me and that's why He gave it to me, He said, we will get married and have a little party with our families and all that, but as far as a date goes... it's still a mistery, most likely in 9 or 10 months.

Honestly I can't stop looking at it, I told him the kind of rings I liked but he chose a different one for me, and while it's different I really like it.

The weirdest thing happened today.... I found out my ex is going to the same festival I am next month, so I decided to reconnect with her. I asked her if she was going to be camping with a group I could join, and she was more than happy to invite me. But here's where it gets weird:

She straight-up asked me if I was feeling anything in regards to gender, because her group is made up of trans and nonbinary people. It took me a minute to respond because, holy crap, what are the chances? Needless to say, I went right ahead and came out to her and now we're going to the thing together. I think we're going to be great friends after all this. I miss having her around, so this is nice.

I'm still kind of in disbelief.
