I was talking with my mom and sent her a picture of myself as I was talking to her. Here is what she replied with:

That is super sweet, just reading that gave me a huge grin. The way she writes is total mom texting too.

Talking to my sister tonight, she told me
"My boss told me told me my sister called and asked if I was working"
This made me happy because:
I was worried about her and trying to find her.
A vocal pass over the phone to a complete stranger without me saying I was her sister or giving my name
Do not fear those who have nothing left to lose, fear those who are prepared to lose it all

Thanks. Her boss told me she was there, but I had to wait till she was finished for the day before I could talk to her and know for myself. It was nice to hear her voice again, for my own piece of mind

Finally getting a new computer tonight!   This one is pretty much one generation removed from stone knives and bear skins.   Hopefully the new one doesn't need rebooted every time I need to check email.

Also finally getting all the home repairs done this and next week.  Finally, a garage door that opens, a driveway that doesn't look post-apocalyptic and a proper veggie garden.  I can't wait to make my pizza sauce with fresh tomatoes, basil and oregano.

Looking at my face in the mirror and thinking
"The hair is short, there's not that much of it there. Yes I'm pale and it's dark, but right underneath the chin. Thats hard to see. I think I'll try and skip shaving today"

Yeah laser is working :). Hopefully I've made the right decision, and I'm not bouncing off the walls before the end of my shift today

Made it through to the end of the shift,  before I started totally flipping out. Now going to spend the rest of the afternoon inside so nobody can see me. It doesn't look like I'm unshaven (the laser is working) I just feel off somehow.

5 days on T...
My speaking voice is not perceptibly lower, but my throat is tight and I can sing (much) lower.
Early, early days, but stoked!

I think I just managed to build a MTG deck that actually works pretty well. :D I usually suck at deckbuilding so this is a very welcome change for me.

Today my ex wife let me know she's working on an article about how trans allies can also "come out" and be more actively supportive, with family, friends and community.

She asked for some feedback on the article, which I gave, and I have to say it was really a sweet experience to have that interaction with her.  Sniffle.  :)

Happieness is a brand new birth certificate.

It only took 3-4 business days from appointment to my mailbox :D
Now to start changing everything else

A friend gave me some homemade jam sweetened with stevia and I have some low-carb pitas and some smart balance peanut butter. I decided to try PB&J for the first time in years and test to see if it spikes my blood sugar. Oh, and with bacon. Why the heck not, right?

If my BGL test comes up less than 100, expect a new post again here in about an hour. If not, then look for a post from me in the "What made you unhappy today" thread.

My BGL just read 102. I aim for less than 100 (ideally mid 80s) but that's not bad so I'm happy. This isn't something I expect to want to eat very often so it's fine.

Dalebert, are you diabetic?

I have been below 100 for a few days now and I am ecstatic. Last test was 86 and that was like 4 hours after a full meal.

OK, let me just preface this with one of my little personality quirks- I HATE misplacing/losing things.  It drives me nuts when something goes missing, whether it's an article of clothing, a tool, a CD, book or something as insignificant as a guitar pick.   As soon as I realize something is missing, I tend to turn my house upside down until I find it.  I had been missing a few things for some time now- a small gift from my wonderful wife, a guitar to USB cable, and a fancy guitar strap that I had probably wasted several hours looking for a few months ago.

Well, I found all of them today!  Now where the hell did my headphones go?  Never did find those... GRRRR

Sweetie does that and it drives me bats! I'm very methodical and anal retentive about putting things back because I am incredibly bad at remembering where things are if I don't.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.
