So, while repressing my gender issues again, I made plans to visit some old friends.  I'm now at a point where I feel I need to come out soon.  One of my friends will probably be fine with it, but the other is an ex-boyfriend and I might be staying with him.  He's fine with trans people and I think I've mentioned it to him before, but I don't want to spring it on him all of a sudden during a visit.  It's a platonic visit - I'll be sleeping on the couch - but I'm concerned that he would feel deceived.  Well, I guess either way, it would seem deceptive.  Not sure what to do.

If your ex-boyfriend is fine with trans people and you have the kind of relationship where you can be friends, there's a good chance he'll be fine with you being trans.
Good luck.

Thanks!  I think he'd be fine with it except that he's an extremely hyper sensitive person who easily becomes emotionally overloaded and withdraws.  I'll have to be careful about when and how I tell him.  He'll need a lot of time and space to get over the shock.  Starting to consider just staying somewhere else, but I do want to hang out with him.  We're really good friends.

i would say just make sure your ready and your doing it only because you want to, not for someone else:)
I am rehearsing for a role, and the role is my life.

I've done this kind of thing. Even though I was accepted 100% and warmly, I still kind of found it exhausting. Take care of yourself and listen to how you are feeling and give yourself space if you need it.
