Today at roughly 5 o'clock I received and took my hormones for the very first time! The whole day really turned into quite the event really. I had an appointment at 10 for like a final evaluation or whatever with a social worker which was just pretty much formality and was an interesting lady so that was fun. When that was over I had just a little less than four hours until my appointment with the doctor. I ended up just roaming the streets of phili alone the whole time which was actually awesome and much less depressing than it sounds lol. I really am finding a whole new love for that city that I've never had before but anyways. So doctors appointment, everything was going great and moving smoothly up until a minor wrench in the gears. The doctor last time had told me by the next time I came to choose whether I wanted pills or injections. I had went in with the intention of the injections only to be informed that the pharmacy next store last week decided not to carry them anymore. bleh :P So long story short I would have had to wait to get them online when I was so ready to be starting today. I decided to just get the pills for now because who are we kidding they were literally right there next store as opposed to waiting who knows how long but yea no big deal. So before I go rambling on and on like I feel I always do I'll stop there lol. For future reference though how do you all feel about the differences between pills or injections I'd love to hear some feedback. For now though so excited and I'm not letting anything take that away from me. ;D

Congratulations!! I can only imagine how awesome you must feel.  :D

I'm jealous, I'm waiting for the Dr. office to call me to set up my appointment.  My therapist said it takes about 3 weeks after they get her recommendation letter to contact me.  This Friday will be 3 weeks.  Ugh! The wait is killing me.

Thank you so much it really is awesome! I know how much the wait sucks trust me lol. Just gotta try your best not to let it consume you as best you can I feel. I got lucky in terms of speed having gone the informed consent route considering my therapist wanted me to see her for at least 2 years before I even thought about it (in the process of looking for a new one btw lol) and the whole thing happened in two appointments for me pretty much. Good luck though I'm sure it will go great and judging by your picture you hardly look like you need it girl! I'm sure with hormones you're gonna be a stunner lol. :P

Hi Eyie,

I go to Mazzoni too.

I love the gayborhood and it is the most accepting place in the city.

I just switched to injections 8 weeks ago. I got the syringes, needles and estrogen at the Walgreens next door. So if they stopped supplying needles it is news to me. I will be at mazzoni on the 24th for laser and I will inquire. The E and supplies cost was $80 without insurance. There are supplies for several bottles of E.

I was on E pills for 14 months and E injections 2 months. I think injections are far better than pills, but your mileage may vary. I have (had) a real needle phobia. I was in the hospital twice when I was very young and I was a pin cushion. I fainted 1 time during injection training after I injected and safely disposed of the needle and the second time I almost passed out. I have done two injections at home without incident.

I have more breast growth and softer skin and periods when I am smiling for no reason. I think at times I am happy :)

Didn't mean to make you concerned Cynthia like I said they only stopped carrying them like last week I guess but the opinion to get them online didn't seem so bad, they place the prescription and everything. I just couldn't wait another week lol. Hopefully by the next time I go in three months they will have them back but geeze that needle is alot bigger than i was expecting :-\. Good to hear your happy though, mayb I'll see around! :D

The needle is big, I do not know if it is that I am doing so much I never though I would ever do or I just want to be me more than the fear of needles, but I was determined to inject no matter what. I felt I was no longer making progress. Now I know I am making progress.

Yes, I hope we catch up some time.
