Hey all!

I've been AWOL from the forums for a while now, but today marked 12 months since I started transitioning! So I thought I would put this little before/after pic for old times sake and see how you all think I'm doing so far ^^

I still have a ways to go, and I still fail entirely at seeing any female qualities in the mirror/pics...but hey, one year isn't that long in the grand scheme of things, so hopefully the HRT can continue to work it's magic over the coming years.

Thoughts/opinions?
You say "Using humor as a defence mechanism" like it's a BAD thing!

I am thinking if getting rid of my wig. I am in the process of growing my hair. Do you think it's fine for me to lose the wig...

You actually look quite pretty. Short hair is nice depending on how you style it. You have no problems here. I don't plan on using a wig. I know lots of women with short hair and they rock it. I plan to until it grows out.

First picture to give me 98% female on Pictriev. Go figure, I'm not seeing it. It also told me I look fifteen.

I can see how they came to that conclusion.

My avatar is also 93% F on pictriev. No makeup. I actually went to church looking like that...

This is an incredible transformation. I'd be over the moon with this kind of progress. Love the new hair colour btw  ;)

Okay, I typically upload pictures taken with my phone's camera due to the blurring caused by it being a bad camera. Here are some rather truly unflattering sharp photos taken with my good camera. (Heheheheh, though still in awful lighting!!)

My feeling is the one on the left is far better than the one on the right which looks way too masculine.

Oh, what they hey have another with totally different white balance and lighting.

Something incredible to me is the change to my beard shadow on the last photo after just under four months of hormones. I'm only four hours into my electrolysis so it's pretty awesome to be able to shave and barely see it.

Danniella, that's a great hair color for you!
"What do you think science is? There's nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. Which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?" --Dr. Steven Novella

I notice a insecurity with your posts, and I believe that you think you are not pass-able?
It is understandable why you think that. You got masculine traits and when you look straight at the camera you look pretty.. firm? Dominant? Not sure what to call it. That is probably why the left picture looks better because you look more relaxed on it.

Anyhow! Seeing masculine traits is for a transgender like still seeing the old you. Like seeing a guy. But the most beautiful boys have feminine traits and the most beautiful girls have masculine traits. But no matter from what angle I don't see anything other than a gorgeous girl on your pictures and I hope I look that pretty one day o.o.
:D Want to see me ramble, talk about experiences or explaining about gender dysphoria? :D

You are very very pretty. though you do have a bony face. It looks like you are thin. Maybe gain some weight, putting on a couple pounds could soften up you face, and help with your confidence. I am 6'0 and i weigh 140 so i plan on gaining weight a few months away form now once i see how hrt is working.

I would also like to say you have many beautiful feminine features, and you look aamazing for only being on hormones for 4 Months

You gotta change your name from Skeptoid to something else cause you aint allowed to be skepitcal on your looks anymore.
I can see what you are saying with left versus right but the right picture is still beautiful. I am not blowing smoke up your <you know what> either. if I did not think such a thing I would not say it.

Could I ever hope to pass?

Imo you are there! besides for that little bit of shadow I see in the pics with out makeup. Your body shape is extremely feminine as you're shoulders and hips are the same width. you look kinda tall but I have seen women who are taller. Based on your appearance you pass. if you are not passing publicly I would say it would be reasons other then how you look.

Im not gonna lie I would be ecsatic if my hips looked as good as yours  :P

https://rekognition.com/index.php/demo/face sees 5 of these faces as female, only the bottom center one came in as male.

Just FYI I have put a picture of me where I have a beard in there and it gendered female...

---

You look good Yuui. The last two look kinda andro though, partly cause no smile I expect, partly cause bad skin. Every other pic looks great. The smiles make your cheeks go all cute and stuff which makes you look better :P

Within the realm of purely lookin great though. Maybe do something nicer with your fringe? I mean it is ok but ya know, I think you can get a more flattering style.

I have thought about getting bangs or something like that but I'm far to self conscious about if it would look weird and what others would think about me having such a hairstyle.

Does HRT (if it ever comes to that) have any effect on lips/chin?
  •

Seras

Dunno. My lips are more visible now I think, but that might just be due to my general change in complexion and not the lips changing at all, I have no idea. I do not think your chin will change much but don't worry about it! It is fine. Really.

And yea, I am hesitant on getting an awesome haircut too. Pretty much for the same reasons, I know I will some time though. Just gotta go to the haidresser a few more times and get to know her more then get her to gimme opinions on a good style.

Also, just to get this straight, you are not on HRT?

PS 6ft is model height like me, congrats :P

I really dislike my chin :/

Asking a haridresser about feminine hairstyles is not something my nerves could handle and no I'm not on HRT.

That's not to bad I am like the same height as you. But you look good!

I would recommend looking around for an lgbt friendly hair stylist. I found one in my area and it is a really small city! so just ask other people with in the queer community. I learned a lot from my stylist. She really just trimmed my hair some and then showed me a couple ways of styling it. The whole time she was very friendly.

Trust me a blow dryer and a round brush can go a really long ways.
