Hi everyone :) I'm Julie and I'm 20 years old, and I'm from Poland.

I will be leaving for my SRS with Dr. Chettawut in 2 weeks, I will be staying at the Dusit Princess hotel from December 1st to December 29th. Needless to say, I'm pretty terrified. Excited too, of course, but I'm aware of the long journey still ahead of me after the surgery. I've never undergone any surgery in my life, so this is big for me. Plus, being still so young and going by yourself across the world to go through such a major thing is pretty scary to me on its own. But now is the only time I can do this without it getting in the way of my life, and the goals I want to achieve in the future.

Anyway, is anyone else from here gonna be staying at the Dusit around the same time? :3 It would be nice to know and have someone to talk to while I'm there, since I'm already scared.

xoxo

Welcome Ivy! I am a recent Chettawut girl and Im still here in Thailand at the Bangkok Rama Hotel and I had my surgery on Nov 1st and I'm leaving this sunday on Nov 23rd. I travelled here alone and though I felt the same way you're feeling and scared but yet so excited to finally get this big goal accomplished.

BUt I can assure you, there is nothing to worry about. Dr Chettawut and his nurses are extremely nice. Ms Som and Ms Sri understands and speaks english really good and Ms Sri will be visiting you daily except Sundays to check up on you and examine your wound to make sure everything is going well. You will be taken really good care of so there's definitely nothing to worry about.

After surgery, most importantly is take your meds and if you ahve any concerns or questions ask the nurses or Dr Chettawut. There will definitely be other girls who undergone surgery with Dr in the same hotel at the Dusit. But after surgery you're most likely will be spending more time recovering at the Dusit instead of going out and shopping or all that stuff. But most girls recovery is different. For me, I stayed mostly in my hotel room, resting up. Tried to walk to the supermarket with my neighbor who got her surgery 9 days before me and I almost fainted badly. That's when I realized I need more time to recover lol.

But if you got any questions, ask. Congrats and good luck!

Thank you :3 I'm sure I'll be fine, but when the whole process pops into my head, I feel scared to the core. But what you gonna do xD

I'm glad everything went ok for you, were you satisfied with the service at the Rama hotel? I might have to switch, since I've recently reviewed my budget and well... If I need the additional skin graft, I might not be able to afford food :D I figured I'd be more comfortable at the Dusit, but I'm not sure if going on a involuntary food strike would be worth it ^^

The average meal at the Dusit is between 250-450 baht. (Prices don't include service and tax). I stayed there in July / August. Next door is the large shopping center with lots if food stalls but you will need to ask for English menu's.

I had thought about Rama self catering but in the end was happy to have my meals cooked for me. Something less to worry about. With the big breakfasts I would often have only fruit for lunch and a large meal in the evening.

I have some write ups on Susan's - in the SRS section. In total in four weeks taking a double room (I had guests stay with me) and all the meals was about 80'000 baht. This included room service for meals.

You are in safe hands there. Hope it all goes well for you

Hi Posion_Ivy

Hope it goes well for you. And pardon me for hijacking this thread :p

I'm gonna be at the Rama cottages from mid Dec to end Dec. If anyone wants to share a 'cottage' (?) we can do it and get a bigger room/split cost. I PMed another girl BW something but haven't heard from her.

If anyone is keen, we can hang out. Christmas in the hotel room sounds miserable. I will be alone.

Thank you! :)

I will be seeing Dr Chet in Mid January and lodging in the Rama. I am probably going to cook or have a friend cook with me, and I will be declining any skin graft.

Hana, i think the skin graft is required in case your scrotal skin is insufficient, Doctor Chettawut will not hesitate to extend his work by using the adjacent groin skin to make sure that your total skin graft will be sufficient for the maximum depth of the vagina. But im not really sure about that.

Ivy,

me and a few girls are here at the Rama Hotel. We have our own cottages specially for Dr's patients. In the cottage mainly like a fully furnished studio. There's a hotplate and pans where you can cook and also have the option of getting room service. There's also a bank atm nearby where you can take money and convert it to baht and also a 7-11 and a few other shops.

I do recommend you to not buy too much room service lol and rather stock up on food before your surgery, I recommend it unless you have someone who can go to the store and buy groceries while you rest at the hotel.

The Bangkok Rama Hotel also includes free breakfast every morning but we can't choose what we want if it's brought to our room in the morning.

Im paying 1100 baht a day which is $33. But I have been ordering a lot of room service since i been here after my surgery and couldn't really go anywhere during recovery so I regret not buying any groceries and only a portion before surgery.

Thank you for all the responses, I appreciate :3

Thank you jojo for the insight, I'm considering switching to the Rama hotel. Stocking up was my plan all along :D Water and bread all around xD
Ms. Som was kind enough to calculcate the total price difference between Dusit and Rama for an approximately 25 night stay... so I might just be able to survive if I switch :D

blackponyx if I do end up switching I hope to see you there :D The fact I'll be away for Christmas bums me out a little bit too, it's my favorite time of year :3

It's my favourite time of the year too! Back home we have pretty lightings everywhere and carols and the whole festive mood. I'm just sad that it's not a holiday here because this is a Buddhist country, but still, we can have our own fun! ^.^

blackponyx, well when I was checking out Bangkok on Google Streetview, the pics there were taken in January, and the Seacon Square mall still had awesome decorations :D So I guess some areas there have given in to the Western spirit :P But it's not the same when there are palms trees instead of christmas trees, I guess. I will have to email Ms. Som about switching to the Rama, unfortunately, I was so excited about the Dusit and their wine bar *_*

On unrelated note, I know I have to stop taking estrogen and blood thinning medications, but is it ok to still take T-blockers? I emailed the office about it twice, and each time they only mentioned E and the blood thinning meds. They also said I could bring all the meds with me in case I have trouble withdrawing ( which I probably will have, I'm very fond of my breasts and don't want them to shrink even a little bit :P I've also heard of hair loss issues... and as it happens, I've just gone through a hair-loss phase for some reason and have half of what I orginally had left on my head :P )

Do not risk it. Last thing you need is a bleeding complication or infection or worse. There's a good reason why you need to stop hormones and anything that you take hormones with as a booster and it's to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis or thinning of the blood.

I have been on HRT injections with progesterone booster for 15 years, started when i was 16 and now im 31 and I missed 1-2 months a few times but that didn't shrink my breast where i didn't have anymore so you don't need to worry about that.

When I found out my surgery date as stated in DR Chettawuts website, "You must stop hormones 1 month before surgery". I completely stopped HRT, Vitamin with Vitamin E, and any boosters for the hormones at 1 month and a half before surgery. I don't smoke nor drink alcohol but rarely so that was taken care of. Within that whole month before surgery I was very careful. I didn't wanna develop any diabetes, diseases, or put anything in my body that would kill me during surgery or while in recovery so I had to be really strict on myself.

And even though I kept myself almost to perfect health before surgery, I am glad surgery went well and there was no complications but this was a major surgery to get SRS + Breast Implants and still 3 weeks after srs+BA I find myself very fragile regardless if my healing is going great. I almost fainted a few days ago due to a long walk and standing up too long at the Tesco supermarket, I thought i was gonna die. I realized i need to take better care of myself and give myself time to rest.

My stitches are healing great but as for my blood sugar and everything else that uses my energy and inside my veins, it was running a healing marathon using up every source of energy to rejuvenate my body and that's when i realized, I need to be strict and limit my walking, limit my strenuous activities. I needed to take things more slowly.

But just be careful and good luck. As long as you follow Dr Chettawuts instructions and the nurses instructions who will be taking care of you after surgery, regardless how much you would hate it or how painful it may be, they know what's best, and you will do great. They have had experience in caring for tons of patients like us who undergone the same thing.

That's good to know, thank you. From what they told me, I assumed T-blockers were fine, but I'll stop taking them as well asap. I only stopped the estrogen and blood thinning meds a few days ago. By the way, you look bangin' :o I thought you were my age :o

I'm in good shape overall, I work out like crazy these days ( up untill a year ago I was kinda chubby and my bloodwork before starting HRT was a bit worrisome, but I took care of myself and now I weigh around 50kg, being 170cm high ). My bloodwork prior to SRS turned out fine, I can definitely see the improvement since last year, I only have a slightly increased platelet count, but only by a little bit.

But junk food is the love of my life :P The only difference between last year-me and today-me is that I work out a lot, but only because I love McDonalds, but still want to be thin. But because of SRS and not being able to work out for a couple months, I'm planning to go on a healthy diet after the surgery. It's gonna be a challenge, but I hope I can maintain my current weight untill I can get back on my stationary bike and throw down on some pizza :D

Right now I'm working out extra and eating my favorite foods, because I will be able to do neither after the surgery :P

Haha thank you :3 Hope it goes well for you too!

I hope all the junk food I'm eating now won't disturb my recovery :o

Well then Christmas over there will be an interesting experience... Considering I'll still be in early stages of recovery I don't think it will matter too much though :P

Lol well thanks for the compliment. That pic is actually a week before I came to thailand for my surgery now I need to update my pics. But anyway, do not worry too much about losing weight. 3 days before surgery I was 156lbs and then I had to do laxatives 2 days before surgery and was on a strict clear liquids food and juice water die so I lost about 10 lbs from that. Then after surgery I lost about 10 more pounds due to clear liquid diet for 5 days lol. So yea don't lose too much weight cause all the fat you have right now, you'll need that after surgery for as much energy you can convert fat from.

As for junk food, omg I'm gonna pig out when I get home. Been craving for American food soooo much even though there is a McDonalds here, I ain't about to walk that far and get close to fainting again lol.

You're welcome :o And thank you, from what you're describing seems like I should actually gain some weight xD If I lose 20 pounds there will be none of me left :o

Haha, if McDonalds delivered, I'd be screwed :D

Hanazono, thanks, I wish I knew how though :D

If McDonalds delivered and since they have kfc too, I would be happy lol. Now if they had pizza hut and delivered, now that would be amazing lol.

Haha :D I'm excited to try some Thai food while I'm there too... I'd love to go out on the town while I'm there before the surgery, but I'm super afraid I'll get lost and die xD I sometimes get lost in my own city here in Poland, let alone Bangkok, where asking for directions might even be a problem :o This is another reason I was hoping to meet someone here prior to travelling.

I see we're all junk food lovers :D

Oh yes. The Dusit Princess is only one of three Dusit hotels in Bangkok. And the other ones are closer to the centre. Couple of times had to take two taxi's to get to Dusit Princess. Or rather Seacom Square as they might have heard of this.

But dont hand write the address. Most of the taxi drivers we had did not have their glasses and needed to read printed documents at a long distance. Even GPS map software on a large android screen confused them...
