My diet gets derailed so easily when I crush on some salty type binge food every so often. I mean, really, come on.

Tonight, on a very cold, windy, dreary city night I passed by Garrett's Pop Corn (a Chicago staple) and grabbed a huge bag of caramel corn, warm, fresh, gooey...... Come on, aaaarrrrrgh!

Seriously, what's the deal?

I stress eat/binge, I've always been emotional and lately things have been a tad bit more stressful than usual. Eating is how I cope, granted its pretty safe in my case since it takes a ton of effort on my part to gain any actual weight and what I usually like to binge on is pretty good for me, so no harm done. But then again I have my cravings and certain foods trigger migraines for me and if I have too much sugar/cheap chocolate my face starts breaking out so grrr   >:(

Binge eating can be just as much a mood altering drug as alcohol or pot. It can be a way of soothing your need for comfort when you're stressed or troubled.

Some people also have a physical reaction to certain foods which trigger such powerful reactions in their brains that it's hard to stop eating.

One of best things I ever did was join Overeater's Anonymous . A lot of people there are not overweight. It really helped my get me eating issues under control.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Maybe I should start smoking pot again, oh no.....munchies, there is no end to this cycle.

As for "anything" Anonymous, not my cup of tea; either I come out of there with a superior chip on my shoulder, or depressed after listening/seeing other people in their misery. Suzi, I am not BMI obese or anything, I just get sidetracked once in a while enough to screw up my gains (losses).

After a few weeks on HRT I found out that I was much hungrier all the time. The trick was to find what my body really wanted, which in my case turned out to be salt, protein, and capsicum. When I upped the percentages of those I didn't overeat as much, but my diet is currently out the window. The capsicum was the real kicker. Lately my breakfast has to include about 1/4 teaspoon ghost pepper sauce to satisfy. Endorphins, maybe?
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.
