It seems impossible

I love reading all your stories and comments about SRS and how your life changes once it is done.  I keep thinking of how I could ever pull SRS off and it seems impossible, even though I want it so badly.  I don't have a lot of money or a great job, just an ok job... and the closest SRS surgeon is 5 hours away, and doesn't accept private insurance (my insurance does cover SRS and even some FFS).  I don't have a lot of support from friends or family.  I am 37 years old and want to be fully transitioned by 40 or sooner.  How can I make this happen?? I know things have a way of working out, and I should just keep moving forward day by day with my HRT, gradually changing my wardrobe, going part time, then full time, then SRS.... but at the moment ever reaching my goal seems impossible.

My actual question is did SRS seem impossible to any of you, and then things eventually worked out?  Please offer me a little glimmer of hope.

Thank you!

Was reserved to no bottom GCS.

Things happen, improved care and accepting doctors approved.

Few extra hoops and what was a dream became reality.

If you give up then you could miss the boat.

Saving money was one of the best decisions I have made years ago. I quit smoking (150$ / month), got rid of all luxury, starting to make my own food (saved another 100$ /month) and cut out things I did not need. I even got rid of my cellphone plan, and got a prepaid phone. Do not own a car, so I save a lot on that as well. I also paid all my debts in the last 5 years. (this is huge!)

I am currently saving for FFS. 150 /month. I will have the money in 5 years of saving for the procedures I want. And by the time I turn 40 then, I might reconsider FFS and have a nice nest egg. Who knows. Saving is always a good thing. I had to learn to save, as I was someone who lived from day to day.

I am alone as well. Did everything on my own so far. It can be done, but it is tough, I know. Still it was worth it.  ^-^
