I listen to a little bit of everything. (What I post in threads like this never tell the full story in that regard.) But at the same time, I hate 90% of all music.
Ha. I hate 90% of all
popular music. There's only certain bands or singer/songwriters that get radio play that I enjoy. Most of my library consists of indie music (in the most literal sense rather than genre) and mainly comes from countries outside of America like the UK, Scandinavia, Russia, Poland, and so on; much of it on record labels such as Kscope, Burning Shed, InsideOut, Laser's Edge, Constellation, Sergeant House, et. al.
I love making people mix CDs to expose them to music they'd never bother to discover on their own time. Sadly, most people don't appreciate music nearly as much as I do, or are as open to new things. An ex of mine used to consider The Beatles as her favorite band. I exposed her to Porcupine Tree and her entire perspective on music shifted. She'd never heard anything so incredible, and they quickly became her new favorite band.
