That actually happened to me in the Autumn of 1995. But it was with a DOD Death Metal distortion pedal. The stereo was an old Technics that my dad got for me since my old boombox kicked the bucket. I had to wait until Christmas until I had a stereo again. I got a Sony receiver and that lasted for 10 years with constant use. (But I kept the feedback loops to my Crate guitar amplifier. I was slowly killing it as well. But I didn't know that until I sold it to someone and it died on them three weeks later. They weren't too happy with me. But I had no idea that it was going to croak.)

My taste in music hasn't changed. My fav's still are Nightwish(pre 2005), Epica, Therion, Eluveitie, and Revamp. However I really like all kinds of music as long as it shows talent and isn't silly lyrically or musically, unless it's meant to be for fun, lol!
