Flipper are apparently reforming with David Yow (!) replacing Bruce Loose.

some vintage 1974-1975 Zappa.

Right now:

Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy (live in El Paso 1975. soundboard recording)

Some call the BF-Tour versions tedious, but i think it's kind of hypnotic to have all the repeats during the refrains. It was probably a good call of Frank's to edit the released version (recorded at the Armadillo 2-3 days later) though. Although that one also probably had some heavy overdubbing going on as most released tracks from that gig. This one also has a better solo i'd say.

Brian Wilson's "Smile"... but not sure I get it.

Let's Move To Cleveland (live in Saratoga Springs 1984) - Frank Zappa

One of the best renditions i have ever heard of this track. All soloists shine here, especially Frank (on guitar) and Scott Thunes (on bass), not to mention Chad Wackerman's excellent drumming throughout. A musical tour de force. 14 minutes of sheer brilliance from a tour that could be at times less than brilliant.

all that Zappa is making me itch.

now listening to:

Holiday In Berlin, Full Blown - Frank Zappa

a much better tune of his, although i do like the Valley Girl backing by Scott Thunes, Zappa and Chad Wackerman. Hell, Drowning Witch is one of my favorite albums of his.
