Hazumu

Hello--

About a month ago I decided to explore the path leading to transitioning to female.  I've been busy scouring the internet for information, and have a bunch of stuff to think about.  Along the way I found and bookmarked this forum.  This is my first "Hi, I'm here" post.

I'm going to ask a bunch of questions on a variety of aspects of completing the transitioning (including SRS) to female.  From what I've read so far, I'm sure I'll find both the support and the hard answers I need to pull this off.

About me -- Age-wise, I'm gaining on the big five-oh, but people mistake me for being in my late 30's (good thing, I guess,)  I've retired (I prefer 'graduated') from active duty military.  I'm currently employed by a government agency, and work in a creative field (photography, video, graphics, etc.)

Some of the things I'll be asking are:  What NOT to do; What is a good (reasonable) timetable/roadmap for transitioning; how to pull my creative accomplishments into my newly constructed female persona; and lots more as I think about them.

The name "Hazumu"?  From a Japanese comic (soon to be an anime) called Kashimashi.  For those that haven't heard about it yet, Hazumu is a boy who has an alien spaceship crash-land on him.  The aliens are able to rebuild his body, but only as a female.

Well I have a couple of questions that I want to get posted to the appropriate threads.  We'll talk more, later

P.S., There's an avatar out there for Hazumu.  I just can't seem to load it or to get the forum to pick it from my server...

Hi Hazumu,

Girl did you come to the right place. We're just full of information here. One word of caution cause this comes up a lot we do not discuss specifics of HRT. Be sure to read the site rules so you don't run afoul. Glad to have you aboard. So , Fix yourself a cup of tea, or other relaxing beverage, sit down, take your shoes off and set a spell.

Good Journey,

Cassie

Welcome home Hazumu, I'm generally not much for greeting new members, I like to see who they are and do first and if they like to talk, then I'll drive em blind, but I saw you were an ex military person, so thought I'd say HI to you.

For answers to your questions, just ask anything you want and there definately people here who can give you any answer you need that we can talk about within the rules of Susans Forums and HBSOC international standards.

We have those here that are Crossdressers, Transsexual and etc. etc.... so not everyone here can tell you the same things,And also some are new to it as you are and some have a lifetime invested, but some things you will need to know and other things you won't.  We have something for anyone and everyone and of course the wiki encyclopedia as pertaining to many items of Transgender and related sources.  Check with Stephanie Craxford for anything you might be looking for, she is the wiki Administrator.

As Cassie already stated, we will not discuss dosages or routines of Hormone Replacement Therapy.  This is because HRT is a highly dangerous task if not routinely monitored by a doctor.  I myself had what the doctors called an Estrogen Stroke November of 2004 and was lucky enough to recover with almost undetectable damage.  Others have not been so lucky, so please remember that when talking to others as time goes on, there are to many that think they know better and accumulate such drugs without a doctors perscription and are foolish enough to go it without the doctors help.  Please do not fall for such things as it could not only kill or damage you, but also make you inelegible to ever take it again even with doctors and you wouldn't want that, would you?  You would never achieve what you would have obtained from it.

As for what not to do?  just read through the board and ask about anything that strikes you as relevant about anything associated with Transition, be it coming out, seeing a psychiatrist (a requirement if you want SRS, Doctors, handling your wife and family when they go into shock etc.

Talk away about anything you don't understand or need to know more about.  You won't be asking anything that any of those here haven't needed to know at some time or other and had to find out for themselves.  There are a few  here that are Transsexual and either bound for surgery or have been to surgery and live completely and totally as women.  Some are Homosexual, but we debate all the time if that means having sexual attraction to men or women.  Some of our TS's here are all for men and some wouldn't touch one with a 10 pole on fire.

We have not only TS's who were born men but also TS's who were born female, so keep that in mind when talking about TS's.  We don't like to offend anyone.  Well, enjoy your stay here Hazumu.  And never doubt that those here will help you all they can.

And you were right, you do have a lot to think about.

Terri

Welcome to the Message boards at Susan's Place.  I looked at a site showing and telling about Hazumu. Very nice story, and is the first I have heard of it.  Look forward to hearing more about your recent decision to explore the path leading to transitioning into the female You.

Welcome,

Hazeumu, I to am in the beginning of my journey. I say that because here I've read of some for over 40 years alredy transitioned. I have a significant other, namely, Peggiann. She has realy found a wealth of information here at Susan's. She is open to visit with anyone about that side of the issues. I am in the middle of some weather threatened projects so haven't been on much since we posted intro's a little over a week ago. We're snow covered today and yesterday so not to anxious to get out in it.

Well again welcome and keep your humor it helps.

Oh, geez -- I should do a more personalized reply, but due to an unexpected tasking at work, my weekend has been torn up.  At least I'm getting paid overtime.

Thanks for the avatar info, Melissa.  Until then I've chosen Nausicaa.  She set me on the path to learning Japanese, so she'll do until I make 15 posts.

Understood, Cassandra, no talk about specific dosing of HRT.  I did ask a quetion about the implantables, though  If this is also off limits, let me know.

I'm about a quarter of the way through the Wiki.  I actually RTFM more than half the time. ^ ^

Terry-Gene -- I'm still digesting your post.  Thank you.

Here are a few links to Kashimashi scans and scan-lations:

As I've learned with other journeys keep your eyes on the horizon, and keep walking to your goal.

Dangit!  I'm out of time again (have to get up at zero-dark-thirty to go to work on my day off

Welcome to Susan's Hazumu,

I think you will find most if not all the answers you seek here at Susan's. There is no shortage of opinions and people prepared to offer information. I guess the big task is figuring out what works for you. So good luck on your journey of slef discovery and look forward to your interactions here.
