Maybe it is a nice idea to share some tips and techniques for DIY shoestring FFS. FFS, ...without surgery.
Okay, so FFS alters the face in a very subtle way. Often it involves shifting around tissue for mere millimeters. A liplift is a good example. It takes about 2mm to 4mm to make a drastic change from male to female. The human brain has a special area which deals with facial recognition. Our brains excel in facial recognition, even the slightest change will be noticed. So how can we do that without surgery? There are ways...
Here are some tricks I learned:
1. Smile!
When you smile, the lip will lift. Instant liplift! besides, smiling is contagious and the more you smile, the happier you will be.
2. Stop frowning.
Yes... pay attention to your frowning, and other face muscles, and when you notice you are doing it, relax. After a while, the frowning will not be so automatic anymore. This will prevent you from getting an expensive and early face lift. Try massaging the face while you are at it, it relaxes the skin and promotes better blood flow.
3. Drink water.
Water is good for the skin. Good hydration makes sure you're skin looks shiny and soft. Most of our weight is water, some estimate even up to 70% of our bodyweight.
4. Shape those eyebrows!
This is probably the most important change you can make on your face. It is instant FFS, for free! A brow lift is often unnecessary. Even Alexandra Hamer from Virtual FFS seems to agree: the male and female brow sit almost in the same position, but females pluck the underside of the brow, creating an instant brow lift. Don't underestimate the effect that eyebrows create, it will be more drastic than let's say a nose job.
5. Photo rejuvenation.
Try photo rejuvenation. IPL, or intense pulsed light will soften the skin. Not free, but while you are busy with hair removal, try some IPL for a change.
6. Makeup.
Use makeup for which it is intended: to create an illusion, and pronounce your strongest assets. So if you have big eyes, be easy with the eyeliner as it will make your eyes look smaller.
7. Exercise
The better your blood flows, the healthier you will look. Especially in the face. Blood tends to flow down due to gravity between heartbeats, making your face pale and grey when you sit still for long periods of time, because the heart sits below the face, it has to pump blood against gravity. So move around for a healthy shine and natural red cheeks.
