Makeup irritating my eye

I'm not sure why, but my right eye is way more sensitive than my left eye.  Hypothetically speaking, I can rub my left eye all day long and it'll be fine.  But if I rub my right eye, it often gets red irritation on in the inner part of the eye.

So when it comes to applying eye makeup, it seems almost every time I do it, my right eye gets that burning sensation and redness.

Does anyone have this problem and know what to do about it?

I've already ditched most of the cheap eye makeup for higher quality stuff (Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil), but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

Hard to know... Did you try a primer before ? Also, you have to identify what makeup hurt you : eyeliner ? mascara ? eye shadow ? or primer !
Use just one and I think you will know.
I think you can change brand too : Clinic maybe. mac ?
I get his feeling with makeup removal and I am trying different. So, if I use waterproof eye liner, because of it is harder to remove, I have to insist more and then I got you sensation. Then, it depends, sometimes I use waterproof, sometimes not.
Each skin is different and eye skin especially thin... so most sensitive.
