Hi girls,

Quick question for those of you who have undergone Rhinoplasty with Dr. Z.

I understand swelling is one of the primary influences concerning the appearance of the work in the post-operative stage.

My question is, did you, as in my case, have the experience of falling MADLY in love with your nose when it *first* came out of the cast and you saw it for the very first time, only to find that after a day or two, the swelling had set in and it hadn't looked like that since? I'm now 2 1/2 months post-op and the nose he gave me is still amazing, but it's not as amazing as it was when I first laid eyes upon it.

So, am I the only one who has had this experience as far as a discrepancy between the nose "right out of the box" and the nose after the swelling set in? If not, how much recovery time had to elapse before you saw that perfectly-contoured nose in the mirror again?

As always, I appreciate the feedback!

I did indeed love my nose when he first unveiled it.  I wish I remembered better exactly when it went back down, but today it looks just as good to me.  So it does come back eventually.

Thank you! I cannot WAIT to see that nose again! ;-)

(It's still gorgeous now, though.)

Looking at my 6 week picture I had most of "that" nose back.  I've shared pics of the whole process here and they are linked off the globe in my profile too.

Here is the shortcut

Remember the splint he has the nose is is to support it and shape it. Without that splint its free to swell. As a rule of thumb, it can take 6 months to a a year for a rhinoplasty to take its final shape, just because swelling here is sensitive.
