Hi, I'm entering my 3rd month of HRT and was wondering when others began noticing fat redistribution to your hips and off of your waist line.

Thanks,

Kaylee

I'm on my third and a half month. I started noticing it around my second month, but it differs for everyone. It should start soon for you :)

Patience.... :)

Redistribution of fat takes years... Many many years. When on HRT, your body will tend to create new fat cells in the more female areas ( thighs, boobs, bum etc ), but the old fat cells aren't removed or anything. They will remain there and store fat until they're naturally aged out ( which has a timeframe of 5+ years I believe ).

The best case is to have always had no or small stores prior to starting HRT. If you're in that situation then new deposits will go to the right places, and well there won't be any re-distribution needed. Of course you can speed up the process by removing fat from the wrong places by laser/lipo/other etc.

Muscle loss does have a big visible difference however.

Ain't that the truth...

Three and a half months in and I have lost a lot of muscle.

I noticed the *tiniest* changes around 3-4 months, but it definitely took years to be really noticeable (and is still happening at 5 years on).

Three and a half months in and I have lost a lot of muscle.

There was a double edge with that for me...

Most of the muscle I had in the upper half was around my shoulders and chest. My arms never had much muscle and were fairly thin. My councillor told me a long time ago that my upper arms would likely get bigger, and she was right. :(  Almost 2 years on HRT, my upper arms are bigger, all with fat. So annoying, I hate it. I guess it's actually normal for women, but still  :-\ .

Besides that, the loss of muscle around shoulders and my chest ( under boobs ) has been amazing.

Agreed with Wynternight and Sammy Rose, takes quite a while, had boobs long before waist started to show, but I also had to lose weight to notice it being definable... but alas, no noticeable bum fat increase  :'( So don't give up, age and your own endocrine system will determine...

I still love my outcomes tho, no complaints at all

I only started noticing fat redistribution in my 2nd year of HRT.

I ended up with quite a big bum... like all the women in my family. remember the amount of fat you see there is genetic.
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

3 years in or so?   I mean a little in year two but it became super noticeable in year three.

I'm around 8 months in and my ass is quite noticeably fuller to me,and it first became noticible to me may be around 2 months ago. However this comes with the disclaimer that my butt was skin and bones beforehsnd, so having even a modest butt is quite noticeable to me.
26 years old. Started E in March '14 and Spiro over a year before that. Also, I'm effing awesome.

This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it

Definitely getting the boobage. I'm a Tanner Stage II, working on a Stage III.

I'm a little over eight months in and just now noticing those changes.  I was pretty low dose to start though and my doc has been increasing things each time I go back though so I've only been at my current dose for about three months.

My butt is definitely bigger and I think my hips are too but that's not as noticeable (yet).

Lovely feeling, isn't it tho...

Seems as though I am stuck in T3... on and off bulging around nipples... maybe needing to move from popping pills to an implant... something for new year  ;)

My bum was the same and already I've noticed it is now considerably better padded, I'm just over four months in.

I'm 2 years now in HRT. Could you tell when fat distribution begins?

Hi ;
I am nearly at 22 months and unfortunately I was 124kg before I started, but have lost 12.5kgs by exercise and diet, mostly off the tummy, and only just recently is my waist starting to re-emerge. But I have reached a nice rounded B Cup in both breasts with my right breast probably B+ Cup (I had a new bra fitting today and look quite shapely in a C Cup padded bra). I have alao added 2" on my bottom cheeks and am starting just recently to fill out below my tummy button, on the hips. So new fat is going to all the feminine places.  My bust development wasn't really noticeable until about the 9th month, but just recently a couple of women have commented that I am getting cleavage (mind you a little highlighter works owners to accentuate the crease on a low cut dress.. Basically fat re-distribution takes time. Three phrases are: Be Patient as it takes time, Try to loser as much weight before or in the early stages of your HRT regime, and remain positive.  My Therapist told me that I will start to really see the feminine curves and  a more hour glass figure from about Month 26+. She is dead right.

I'm almost two years in, and it just started happening a couple months ago...don't know when. I never reaklly had a "male" body though cause of reasons I care not to go into right now.

Within my first two months of having an E level above the male range, I had some redistribution of fat from the waist to the butt and the back/sides to the breasts, but it was so little that my family did not even notice. This was still at an abnormally low level for a female. Since then, no change. I am starting to think that proper redistribution will not occur unless I lose weight in order to shrink areas that became enlarged under the prior influence of T.

Fat should redistribute itself over time. If you have been on HRT for more than a year without seeing any changes, then I fear you are on too low a dose to feminize.

I find that simple walking (albeit many hours) is helpful in keeping unwanted upper body fat away.

What does it mean? I'm 2 years now in HRT and have no changes.  :-\

That's great to hear. I've been kind of worried about that due to years of body building as a male. I'm feeling my arms getting smaller but I'm really wanting my shoulders to get much, much smaller.
