If you can't quit purging all at once, why not try sticking everything in a box in the basement instead of throwing it all out? Or, if that's not enough and there's someone else you can trust, put it in a box in their basement.

I purged a several times out of guilt feelings. Finally I realized that those feelings would pass eventually, and I would need those clothes again. So then I began to stash them away and forget about it until the guilt passed on.

  I used to purge everything purchased after wearing them only once. I would then promise myself that I would never crossdress again, only to crossdress the very next weekend. This totaled about two thousand dollars in a period of only about eight months.

Finally, I got the idea to rent storage space. I would then go to storage to pick out an outfit for the day, go to a hotel, and get dressed for the evening. While I haven't dressed in quite sometime now, I still have my wardrobe available within a moments notice, should I get the notion.

isn't the reason behind purging is to never crossdress again?
so wouldn't storing the clothes 'somewhere' be actually not entirely purging everything but leaving a backdoor ^^  -unless i am getting it wrong. (j/k)

then again, it DOES save money knowing that the stuff will still be there if stored.
i know some people also keep a calender to see how long they survived from a purge... interesting to see sometimes cuz their dates gets shorter and shorter everytime.

maybe another way for you to do is to purge the ugly clothes and keep the ones you like

I would love to have half the stuff back that I have lost thru purges. I just started dressing a little after a 15 year hiatus. What I did is I bought clothes but never took the tags off. I would take them home and try them take a few pictures then take them back for refunds. I did keep a few items though that I have stashed.  I finally had a long discussion with my wife about my crossdressing so there is no way that I will purge again. >

I purged a couple times with my ex.
Some out of guilt and shame some of necessity (lets face it, we all make bad decisions in fashion without the right education....    Gelly shoes... need I say more?)

But now I have a supportive gf who mentions to me on occasion that I havent done it in a while.
There will be no more purges for me, however I did learn this.

I spent 7 years with a woman who even after I told her and she seemed to be open-minded about it all, in the end was fruitless.   She lied and decieved me about how she really felt, adding to the guilt and shame which causes us to purge to begin with.

I realize that many/most of us want to feel the way we do when we dress up, however we are still men at our core.
So lets be that for a brief moment and stand proud in our heels as we say
"Here I am in my skirt, allow me to lift it so you can kiss my ass"

Basically,
Don't be ashamed of what you feel.  Be ashmed of only the things in life that you do wrong.
And while society may not understand or desire to try to understand us, that doesnt make it wrong.
If you feel it is wrong, then pause, take the time you need to realize what you want out of YOUR life and go from there.

Please believe me.   Life is so fragile and short. 
And before you know it.......... You wont fit nicely into that skirt anymore. 😮

The recommendation to put your stuff in a storage unit somewhere is not the cheapest solution, but it's a great one.  First, you reduce the chance that your stuff will be inadvertently discovered.  Second, it's far enough away that - assuming you are trying to resist the temptation to dress - it will not be immediately at hand if you have a bad moment.  Third, your stuff will probably stay in better condition than it would in a basement, attic, car trunk, etc.

Remember that if you do decide to go on hiatus and the break lasts more than 6 months or so, you should probably replace your cosmetics.  At the very least be sure to replace all eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow to reduce the risk of introducing something nasty to your eyes.

Better yet, don't purge 🙂 But I know that's not always practical advice.

I must admit,I have also purged so many times that
it has now become a very expensive complex.

I took it even a bit further to the point where I
got rid of almost all of my non gender related items as well.
This way I felt I had ultimate control over an inventory
of practically nothing. In other words all of my things could
fit in a shoebox and since I had less things in general
it would be easier to manage both non gender and feminine possessions.
But it doesn't work,I end up reacquiring everything.
Even throughout my bouts with purging, my wife remains
supportive of my TG condition. But she says it's good that
I shop at Ross instead of Macy's, it's too expensive.

If, and it will probably happen again, I feel the need to purge,
this time I am definitely going the "steamer trunk in the attic
route".
