Brassard e-mailed me back saying I might have a slight case of hypergranulation tissue and to see my GP so it can be treated. Problem is I cant see him until 2-3 weeks. Will it get worse? It's on the bottom V of my vaginal opening outside. Is it painful? Is this bad? Any insight will be appreciated!

I had a nasty case of granulation where some tissues weren't happy. After six months and some number of silver nitrate treatments I was prescribed Clobetesol(a steroid cream) it was practically a miracle drug. Inflammation and granulation receded, allowing full healing over the next two months.

Edit added: pain and discharge accompanied the granulation. The pain actually escalated with time as nerves were healing.

Take your saline douche mixture. Put in spray bottle and spray on granulation area.

Let on for some time, Let air dry.

Salt will help granulatin.

Also keeping area dry, dry. Seems the humidity areas are prone to granulation.

I also know some who used diluted proxide but would also ask your GP before being its can burn.

Thanks ladies! So using the Saline/NaCI mixtture and keeping it dry will help it reduce or do I still need to go for treatment? Will it get worse over the next few weeks?

It should get better over time.

I still would fallow up with GP/Gyn if still a major problem.

Air in that place is hard so keep it dry and wipe with your personal wipes to keep clean after #1-2 and dilation.

My doctor also advised me to use normal saline solution for cleaning my vagina whenever i clean it or after peeing. I put it in a spray bottle and spray it to my vagina.

My question is, is the content of normal saline for injection/dextrose is the same content with saline for irrigation / wound care? Coz I bought the wrong variant and bought the injection/dextrose variant instead. Can I still use it?

D5NS should be ok but I would recommend being depended on for wound care because the dextrose can feed bacteria. External use should be ok.

You mean the Saline solution for IV can feed bacteria if I used it for cleaning my vagina? I just dont want to waste it coz I bought 2 bottles of it but next time I make sure to buy the one for wound care.

It's sterile so it should be ok but I'm just saying it can allow bacteria to grow in it so (the solution) should be refrigerated after use.

Go to the DR and ask for solution. Much cheaper and easier than making the solution. I went to the doctor today...not hypergran but a skin flap he said? Hes a trans DR so he knows but I do have some inside aswell. He applied silver nitrate and didnt hurt at all! Thanks ladies!

I went to Brassard in September and am being treated for (a fairly nasty case of) hypergranulation at the bottom v of my vagina.  I am told to douche twice daily with the saline solution but I might try Izzy's suggestion of spraying the saline on the area and leaving it.  In 2 months I've had 4 siver nitrate treatments by my local doctor but now I hear from Brassard to only have those treatments every 4 weeks.

Clhoe,
We send emails to Brassard's nurses, including pictures, and they respond with advice.  I am told Dr. Brassard does look at the photos.
