Very weird... back at the end of summer I had my script filled with the only problem Estradiol Valerate wasn't "Off the Shelf". Big Whop... I had to wait 3 days like the time before that and the time before that....

This time.... No can do. The Wholesaler/Distributor for Walgreens says We can't get it. A local home town pharmacy my wife uses all the time same thing. "Can't get it". The pharmacist at Walgreens even went the extra mile and had already asked about different dilutions. Mine is 10mg/ml. Again No can do  ???

Does anyone else have a problem? I found a thread on ->-bleeped-<- where it seems to be, but.....

BTW - First time ever I had a sense of discrimination about being trans when the local pharmacy said no can do, but didn't bother to call or even tell me about it. It took about 4 calls between the doctors office and the pharmacy before I got a for real answer

Weird. I basically dumped Walgreens (Duane reade) and went with Walmart pharmacy. At first it was due to cost because my insurance doesn't cover E for "males" but I've found that walmart is a world of difference in customer service. They are extremely accommodating and go the extra mile. Duane reade would give me attitude. The first time I went for E I got an email notification that the insurance turned it down. I had some other meds on order that day as well. So I went to pick up my prescriptions and all were ready except the E. They didn't even mention it. I asked, "so did you guys fill the estradiol?" The woman at the counter said, "no your insurance declined it so we didn't fill it." Well geez thanks for telling me only after I asked...no more business for them now from me. Strictly Walmart or Costco.

Does WalMart sell injectable E?  I called two of them this week, neither has a listing for it in their system :(

I have no idea. I thought they could get anything. They do mail order as well.

I was getting injectable estro veler from Walmart in north Georgia and the company they use stop manufacturing it.  There is a company that i can recommend that my doctor told me about called Stroheckers Pharmacy in Oregan.  They make their own compund of it and have 10mg up to 40mg.  I had to stop taking it though because I was getting a massive deep bruise from it as I think it was do to the medicine being in cotton seed oil and a guess I'm allergic to that?  I might try a less concentrated prescription of it and see if it will be ok.  But that is a option if you want and it's cheaper then Walmart.

I've been getting all of my hormones from Walgreen's and just made the switch to injectable and was told they cannot get it so I transferred that RX to a local compounding pharmacy who had it in stock. My PCP faxed them this RX this morning and I had it after work this afternoon.

If you've got a script why not buy it online, it usually cheaper anyway, if you can find the right site like it's the only way I can get it because pharmacies just don't stock injections here in Australia.
but seriously don't bother with Canadian websites, their a total rip off

you can get 10 ampoules of progynon for like $15

But sorry I don't think I'm allowed to post what site I'm thinking about.

The last two weeks have been rather frustrating.

I have been taking Estradiol Valerate injections for several years now. Two weeks ago I finished up my latest bottle and ordered a refill from Walgreens. They said they needed to get a prescription renewal from my doctor. No big deal. I was notified that was renewed in a couple days. Then I got a call that my prescription was delayed. Not unusual for them to not have it in stock. Several days passed and I check what was going on. I was told that their supplier no longer carried it.

I went and talked to the pharmicist connected to my clinic, and he told me that nobody could get it. It was back ordered until April next year. He told me that Depo Estradiol was available, so I left a note for my doctor's nurse to change my prescription.

I soon got a call that the prescription had been sent to Walgreens. I went to pick it up and was told it was not available. What they had was a prescription for Delestrogen, which is the same thing as Estradiol Valerate.

So I called the clinic again and asked the nurse to call the pharmacy and verify that they had the right prescription and it was available. She soon called back and said it was ready to pick up. I went to Walgreens, and they told me it would soon be ready. After twenty minutes I was called to the counter and told that it was not available.

So calling the nurse back I asked her to send the prescription to clinic's pharmacy. So today I picked up my Depo Estradiol after a full week without hormones.

I used them for years and still will as a back up plan. When I went legit I noticed instantly a difference between the Indian/NZ generic and the USA manufactured. It surprised me how my body felt, just like it did years ago when I started.

I get 40 mg/ml delestrogen at Walgreens next to my primary care (LGBT). They have a inside door between the pharmacy and Primary care. $80.00 for delestrogen (5 shots worth) and needles and syringes for 4  or 5 bottles. $60 for the delestrogen.

Depo-Estradiol is not exactly the same thing, estradiol cypionate instead of valerate. Cypionate is stronger. I think that if you deal with compounding pharmacies, they can certainly prepare you EV injections and at quite an affordable price. If you need contacts, let me know. I know a few pharmacies that are quite reputable and experienced.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

Walgreen's just can't get it. The local one I've been getting my hormones from told me they can't even order it and there's been a few more threads about this where it seems Walgreen's is having supply issues on a national level. I went to a local compounding pharmacy and they had valerate in stock. I transferred my RX to them and had it later that day.

I'm in Georgia too! That massive bruise was probably from not massaging the injection site throughout the day. I get them too but its just due to lack of blood flow hence why massaging that area periodically is crucial or icing it, heating pad etc... Its pretty common to get those knots from shots though.

Have you ever taken the shot in bed, and not moved your legs for 15 to 30 min.  I never get bruises if I do that;)

Over the years I've had various oil suspensions and started to become sensitive to most of them (Caster, Cotton, Peanut). Linseed is still ok but it's hard to find.

Finally I had the pharmacy switch to ethyl oleate (EO) and have had no problems with injections ever since. At Stoheckers EO is a special request otherwise you'll get whatever oil they are using at the time.

Progynon depot is pretty good n not a generic, the formula was actually invented in Germany along with proluton depot but I think progynon isn't made in Germany anymore.
Progynon can't be taken at the highest dose n concentration of delestrogen, so the dose needs to be halfed and taken weekly rather then every fortnight, but delestrogen is the newer generation of injectable estrogen, so it's little wonder it works better for you but newer doesn't always mean better, like there's still first generation progestins kicking about too n some of the earlier Gen progestins and estrogens are still just as good, but like you said not for everyone, like I find hydroxyprogesterone works better then micronized progesterone for me.

But anyway, good luck.

I went to the pharmacy today armed with stock number and distributors for PAR. The tech checked again and their distributor is no saying they're expected to get a shipment on the 23rd. There were "manufacturing issues"?

As long as I get something in the next week or two I'll be a happy camper.
