Electrolysis - Do you have to grow out the whole beard or a patch

I have electrolysis questions and would be very appreciative of some help.

Do you have to grow out the whole beard or a patch for a session? If a patch, how big?

How many days do you need to grow hair ( my beard grows slow now)?

What does it look like after the session and a day or two after.

Does it hurt more than laser?

How much do you pay per session and is a session an hour?

Do you have to grow out the whole beard or a patch for a session? If a patch, how big?  I either do cheeks/sideburns/neck or upper lip/chin/neck in a session.  Too little of a section and all the nasty welts will be concentrated in one area and possibly compounded, making healing time longer.  The more spread out, the better.

What does it look like after the session and a day or two after. Depends on the skill of the tech.  Once mah face looked like hamburger for over a week and I never went back.   The one I go to now is a multi-probe galvanic, and I can look OK the next day with makeup and basically normal 2 days later.

Does it hurt more than laser? Depends on whether the follicle is on a nerve or not!

How much do you pay per session and is a session an hour? I currently pay $85 for 60 mins.  I have paid $90 for 50 mins in the past.

Just the area getting worked on needs to grow out. For me that's about four days growth for my electrolysis lady to get a good look at each hair and have grabbing length with tweezers.
