Hello all!

I've been reading these forums for a while. The welcoming and positive community here is so refreshing. So i finally registered!

About me. In my daily life, i tend to read and end up in conversations on social-justice, feminist, progressive-white-people topics. I'm kind of new-ish to being open about my gender flux, aaaand... well i just don't have the emotional resources right now to make my identity into a political thing. I mean i like social justice theory and all ... but right now i just want to be who i am and sort of relax for a while, as i figure myself out. I can't be out in my usual places without trans identities coming up for analytical discussion, even critique.

But this place feels *safe*... like really actually safe. So i come here to read and just feel like it's really ok for us to be who we are.

Anyway my name is Gatsby, i'm 35 years old, and in flux. :)

Happy Longest Night to those who celebrate.

Welcome, Gatsby!

Congratulations on taking these first steps.

I'm in a similar situation to you. I'm 32 and into progressive social-justice and feminist issues, but just taking the first steps in questioning and exploring my gender identity. I'm only out to a couple of people, but looking to build a support network.

Good luck on your journey!

Hey there Gatsby,

it's great meeting you! I'm glad you joined :)

I'm very passionate about social justice, but right now I feel I need all my energy for gaining some security wrt how I feel about myself and my (newfound) identity. Sometimes we need to put ourselves first in order to be strong for others!
