The Happy: I had an appointment at a local hospital this morning to get my 2nd opinion clearing me for bottom surgery. The doctor was brilliant and he said he has no hesitation in approving me for surgery. Woohoo!  ;D

The Unhappy: On my way back to my car afterwards I walked past the cancer support centre, where an old lady of my mother's generation was being dropped off by her husband. As I passed her I could smell that she was wearing my mum's favourite perfume. My mum died of cancer 20 years ago, and the perfume triggered some very strong feelings and I'll admit that quite a few tears were shed.  :'(

But that's life, isn't it? Great stuff happens; awful stuff happens... and it all happens every day to all sorts of people.

I was looking forward to seeing the "Big Red Super Moon" - But it was too cloudy here to see much and the eclipse was maybe a slightly dark pinkish gray at best

I just posted my Facebook coming out post and changed my gender to "Pending". As of posting I had 41 " friends" and 18 friend requests. I wonder where those numbers will stand tomorrow and a week from now. Not sad so much as kinda nervous.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Happy: I finally got to work and correct the issues with my old county's name change paperwork, preparing to submit it and get the ball rolling.

Unhappy: I found out I'm required to publish an ad in a newspaper that announces my name change and without a doubt.. will out me. So much for being in stealth. . .

I got my HRT letter today, and tomorrow I meet with the Endo and the electrologists.   :)
My therapist said I was beaming so I guess that's a good way to say I am ecstatic.

My company HR called and gave me their plan for transitioning employee's and totally supports LGBT (their acronym) and the policy actually specifically identified Transgender employee's. This was awesome news.

With one is third of my Facebook friends responding polls show 100% support! Of course most of the early ones were people I had told personally.

Ever since she came back from visiting her family, my girlfriend has been weirdly distant. It had me super stressed, because I came out to her a few days after she came home. She barely said a word about it, so I was super stressed about it and worried that was the reason for her distance.

I finally sat down to talk to her about it. It turned out she'd been wanting to break up with me (we live together), and wasn't sure how to bring it up. And she said I'd seemed so happy lately that she didn't want to ruin it.

So unhappy was breaking up with my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years. But happy was finding out the cause of stress for both of us.

I've lost weight and my shape is better but my breasts have shrunk down to a B. More on the plus side, that sweet ache has started up again in my breasts. It means the boob fairy has come back for a visit and is maybe planning a present for me.

Yodel finally delivered by new solid state drive and blue-ray drive.

Unfortunately, not the computer case.

Also, because I've been an idiot with my money, I'm relying on ebay sales. Kimmy promises she will be sensible next time.

Not today, but I rear ended a woman on the way to work Friday. (Unhappy)

She insisted on calling the police even though there was just minor damage. We exchanged
papers while we waited. She looked at me all funny and said "You're Michael?" (Happy)

The police arrive, he asks me "Are you OK, Ma'am?" (Happy)

He learns we've exchanged papers already and says we can go. She gets all pushy with him
wanting to know why he isn't filing a police report. He says "You just file a claim with your
insurance company, and her (pointing at me) insurance pays for the damage, that's all
there is to it for a minor accident." (Happy)

Happy - Friends said I pass without makeup which is good because my laser hair technician advised me to avoid wearing any makeup while I'm being treated.
Happy - Friends told me I have nothing to worry about, if I braid my hair or wear a ponytail I'll pass just fine still.
Unhappy - Facial analyzers, literally every single one says my face is full out masculine without my hair framing my face.
Unhappy - I still haven't gotten my social security nonsense wrapped up..

Happy: went to the pub with my colleagues at lunchtime, where a fellow South African engaged me in a conversation about tomorrow's World Cup match between SA & NZ. The conversation flowed very naturally and it was a stereotypical sports conversation between two guys. Part-way through, I remembered that this is still a newish thing for me, and that it's only in the last year or so that this sort of thing has been happening. Before that, guys wouldn't speak to me in that way and my female colleagues would've tried to engage me in their conversation. Now, the reverse is happening. Passing privilege is powerful, and I'm very grateful that I'm fortunate enough to have it. :)

Unhappy: the reason why we were at the pub is because our company might be downsizing. We've been going to the pub every lunchtime as a way of cheering each other up & keeping our morale as high as possible. :(

Happy SA meet the All Blacks in the semi. Unhappy, Aus may meet them in the final. Happy that it will be awesome competition.

Go the Springboks, gulp, we could beat you, but NZ? Fat chance!

Thanks Cindy - my friend & I both agree that SA is unlikely to beat the Kiwis tomorrow though. We both reckon they'll lose the plot in the second half.  :-\

All I can say is that I'm delighted it's an entirely Southern Hemisphere semi-final & final. Ah well... go Bokke!  ;D

Neither happy nor sad news, more neutral news but I didn't know where to put it.

I got one result from my blood test last Friday which showed an overactive thyroid, but these were discussed in more detail with my doctor this afternoon. Turns out my T levels are high normal (I don't know the exact measurement, but the doctor said that 7-37 something is normal, and I'm 34 or 34.5-or-something somethings) and my E levels are incredibly high for a biological male. 130 something is the highest in males and I'm 275.

Additionally, one of my liver functions is out of range (only one function so it's not liver failure). I'll be seeing a thyroid specialist, hormone specialist and I'll need an ultra-scan of my liver to try and determine if these are linked.

I'll be doing a bit of googling tonight.
