Maribeth12

Hello all!

I haven't been on in about a year and a half because I have been going through some personal issues and fluctuating thoughts about being a male to female transsexual.  I wasn't sure where to put an update so I decided to just start over.

I am 20 years old and living on the east coast and as fate would have it I am questioning my gender again.  It's a hard place to be because I really haven't told anyone except my counselor that I still want to be a woman.

So here I am.  I am doing research and I was wondering about the effects of estrogen on 20 some year olds just to maybe get me off the fence about transitioning.  Like I said it's not a fun place to be but here I am.

I hope I can figure out who I am sooner than later but until then, I am just stuck on the fence... kinda alone.

Thanks for hearing me out and feel free to move this post to where ever it belongs.

You are not alone. We all sitting on the same fence along with humpty Dumpty. We desperately wanna fall on the side where the grass is greener and not on the other side where we might crack and fall apart. But for most of we are left sitting on the same fence just wondering "what if".

We are here to help you. We will all get to the grassy green side eventually; some of us will just take our sweet time. Don't rush into any conclusions and let yourself become what you truely desire.

You got a friend and ally in me

Once the cat is out of the bag you can't put it back in. You are young and this decision is life changing, more so for you than say me, I has loved, married many time and have 4 children. Don't be in a rush you will know when you need to make the transition, for me it was do it or start having mental issues but to get there it took 4 years of therapy before I started HRT.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

Hi Maribeth ,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Really the only person you need to tell about your feelings, is YOU. you are the one that's got to live with you. No one else, even if you're in relationship. Once you accept yourself, the rest is easy. What others think of you is immaterial. It's only their opinion. They're not living in your body, you are.

As for HT, you can speak to an Endocrinologist about low dose HT and see what your thoughts are on it, before you jump off the fence. (Well you'll be off the fence by then, moving forward)

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
