Hysterectomy question

I mostly see phallo and meta surgery posts in this section so I am not sure whether hysterectomy is considered bottom surgery or not but I am going to see a surgeon soon who is willing to work with insurance because I actually have a medical reason for it (ovary cysts that cause a lot of pain)  So I was wondering what are some good questions to ask in a consultation. I already have some listed but I would like some of your experiences as well. 


Ive been also wondering if I can have that v. hole stitched up and closed for good after they removed the parts during hysterectomy? Or is that completely different?

My surgeon did not agree to remove my vagina and the reason he gave was that the tissue will be needed for my future phalloplasty. However i think the other reason is that removing or closing the vagina is rather an uncommon procedure that he might not be confident doing. You can definitely ask him, but it can make the insurance more complicated.

Closing that nasty hole is called a colpectomy, and yes, is sometimes done with a hysterectomy. Here in the Netherlands you are given the option to do so. In fact, I'm on the waiting list to have both done at the same time. My surgeon did not mention anything about the tissue being needed for either meta or phallo.

I am supposed to see the gynocologist surgeon sometime next month so I will ask him about having it closed if it can be done with hysterectomy.  I actually learned about that hole much later (after puberty) and I am absolutely disgusted by the very thought. I mean SICKENED that I could puke. I see this(f. gendered parts) as nothing but being a freak of nature. I wish I had a penis.
I don't agree with taking out other body parts like arms or abdomen for a phallo and meta sounds ok since I can actually pee from it but...I don't know how long I must be on T for the clitoris to reach its maximum size.  I wish there was another way.
