So I'm trying to understand my height in relation to hormones.  I'm 5.7 and have PAIS.

So, if my body didn't respond well to testosterone, and I ended up 5.7, does that mean my body produced enough estrogen to cause me to be short (for a "male", but tall for a girl)?  Because I read that if there's no Testosterone, and very low estrogen, you end up tall (like over 6 feet).  I also read that since I do have the Y chromosome, I'll be bigger than girls around my same height.  Is that correct?  And when they say bigger, do they mean bone mass, or what?

It sucks because they really don't go into detail about this on the different sites about AIS.

As long as you have your blood tests prior to HRT it doesn't take much research to find out... For instance, you had either normal male (or normal-high) DHT level and it leads GH (growth hormone) to drop. Hypothyroidism may also lead to lower height.

Definitely I'd bring that to the next endo appointment.

By the way, I'm shorter than you.

I was kinda stupid and started HRT illegally.  So I never had my hormone levels checked till almost a 3/4 of a year in.  My first lab came back as Estrogen at 20 and I had not been on a patch for almost two weeks.

The reason I ask is, I read on a different post that if there is little to no Testosterone and little Estrogen then you end up being tall.  But I'm 5.7, short for a guy, but tall for a girl.  I'm just trying to get a better understanding about my hormones and PAIS.

My HRT doctor was worried about my TSH levels being low (.160), but my new Endo said I was fine.  Of course my new Endo already told me she may have to pass me off to a specialist who deals with AIS.  So...... yeah.

Thanks!

Well... I had quite the same issue. My 1st endo (who prescribed HRT) didn't want to test me for intersex things. Had to drop HRT for over a month to run the tests ordered by my current endo.
