Hi.. I. I'm scared as to what to do. I've been about 3 months postop now but I had broken some ribs back in november that took over a month to heal that caused me the inability to get into position to dilate at all. I was dilating often and getting great results beforehand but now that I'm able to actually move to dilate again.. I.. I was only barely able to get two fingers width in and thus couldn't get the smallest sized dilator I was supplied inside. Now I'm unable to get barely 1 finger in without causing a lot of bleeding and excruciating pain from the stretching. I don't know what to do anymore.. I'm deathly afraid I've lost it. I'm afraid the hospital won't do anything and at the rate it is closing up it will be too late. I really need some assurance and guidance on this. I don't know hat to do.. I really don't and I"m freaking out at the moment. Breaking those ribs already cost me the most critical months of dilation whereas it's dilate or lose it...

what can I do.. or have I lost it for good at this point? I don't know what to do... over time it has been causing more pain as well because of it closing. Is there any procedure to get it back open that can be done? If I cannot even get one finger in there much less do it without it being so tight it cuts off circulation and my surgeon is all the way out in thailand and i cannot afford to see him for any revision.

Ouch, that's a pretty scary situation.

You can always regain width, so don't worry about that too much; dilate with whatever will fit, even if it's smaller than your finger at first. If you can document that you still have most of the original depth, that's very good news, because all you need to do is repeat the regimen that's used early post-op to gain width - start with a tiny dilator, move up to adding a slightly larger one when you feel ready but use the smallest as the first in the session to get you prepped, and keep repeating that cycle with progressively larger dilators.

There are also dilators intended for women with vaginismus that are very, very narrow, if you want to find something like that. But your surgeon may well be able to recommend both the tools and the schedule for you, and I'd definitely at least try asking.

Darling even I was 1 month post op I was lazy and dilating like only once every 2 weeks, to the most once a week and my vagina is still same more or less 6 months later. So...

I echo what the girls said about contact with your surgeon.

Always first and foremost.

If that's the case with your situation, you should contact your surgeon and ask him/her what to do. Some surgeons could do surgery again but you'd have to pay for the surgery again and the surgeon won't guarantee you that they can reopen your hole deep again because it's a very difficult process to do and sometimes can't help get the depth back but who knows, everyones surgery and surgeons technique is is different. You might be lucky your surgeon can reopen your hole and at least give some depth back but like i said, it's a very difficult process for the surgeon to give you your depth back so if he can't do it after you paid him and gave you some depth back, just don't go screaming at the surgeon lol.

You probably should've talked to the surgeon immediately after realizing you couldn't dilate due to the rib issue...but better late than never.

Good luck, let us know how things develop!
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

I can't imagine the Thai surgeon will help without paying plus cost of the trip.
Two fingers isn't bad so you just have to take a deep breath and use your smallest dilator - take two or three aspirins half hour before - use lots of lube or even baby oil to keep the dilator from sticking to the skin and the skin from sticking to itself.
push it in as far as possible and then start wiggling it around in a circle.
Leave the dilator in all long as possible or even all night.
A few hours later try the next size.

That's right. It is site policy as well, this is not doctorly advice. I think she knows that as well

Speaking of, how is it going? Did your surgeon say what to do? I hope everything is okay!

there are options. staying calm a must.         if the lining fails they can do  colon cut surgery
but can't be done by a  plastic surgeon.         I believe PIA does this surgery.

they have dilators that  start out quite small
google dilators  if you want.   vaginismus sells dilators    I am not endorsing this product.

it takes a long time to close up permanently .

call other SRS doctors for help.or a friendly   gyno

you have to  push the dilator in slowly, pull it out, then push it in slowly again, a little bit further and repeat . its the only way.    if you are tense it only makes it worse.
you'll get through this.

Rule of thumbs and fingers.  My green Soulsource dilator is just a bit over two fingers in diameter, and that is my largest dilator. The blue is about 1.75 fingers is diameter. My smallest and now retired lavender color dilator is the size of my thumb.  I just checked.

Check with your surgeon, and then find a local Gynecologist who knows about either or both cis women who have had vaginal surgery or Trans* women.  Since the first little bit of the ring is the worst, the doctor can help you stretch it with an ordinary speculum and get it so you can get the dilator in again.  If there are some early adhesions happening inside, they can also help separate the skin where it may be adhering with a simply wooden sample stick. As you hear a theme in this, you can be helped by a DOCTOR whom you contact.
