Yup tittle says it all!

My first "Man Cave"! I found a little place all for myself and my cat. lol I'm really excited about putting it together. Like I know what I need, but what can I do to it to make  it extra special?! Any ideas?

First. Congratulations on getting your own little place

Second. Ignore all the rules that say a "Man Cave" needs a pool table, big screen tv, huge sound system. Your cave should represent you and your personality. If anyone goes into your place and your not there they should be able to tell that this is the cave of 2fish.

Third. I know you have mentioned you know what you need, but a comfy couch that is longer then you can be a godsend. You may have (drunken?) nights when getting to the bedroom is too much of a hasel. Thoes nights a couch where you don't have to curl up on to fit in so you get a good nights sleep will be apriceated

One of the things I found that helped me feel more comfortable was to outfit the bathroom in "male colours". I chose a nice blue, brown and teal pallet that allowed me to feel like it was mine and masculine, but not overpowering. It made me far more comfotable than the mismatched set of towels etc that had been collected from people gifting me (all pinks and now very faded purples). I'm not meaning to say that any particular colours are male or female, I just made it feel mine by how I wanted it to be :) (My bedroom is white, grey and purple - except the walls are brown because I haven't painted from the previous tenant).

Just make it scream YOU and it's YOUR mancave!

I have a thing with bright colored walls :D In my bedroom I have a deep blue wall, and a dark purple wall in the living room.

I also have a few framed pictures/posters that have a special meaning for me. Like, one was designed by a friend with a photo of and poem by Walt Whitman.

You can include some of your hobbies. I snowboard so I would probably display my boards somewhere and I like baseball so maybe I would keep a bat by the couch which could also double as a security system (just kidding with that last one :D). Displaying your hobbies would be great for when people come over since the stuff in your place would make for easy conversation starters and let people know more about you and your interests.
