"Transparent," Amazon's story about a transgender woman coming out to her family, took home the Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy. The series beat out three-time nominee "Girls" as well as category newcomers "Silicon Valley," "Orange Is the New Black" and "Jane the Virgin." A first-time nominee itself, "Transparent" garnered rave reviews during its debut season.

Creator Jill Soloway accepted the award, and dedicated it to the memory of Leelah Alcorn, a trans teen who committed suicide in December.
