I have a session with my therapist scheduled at 5:30 pm.  My parents will be coming with me and the purpose is for me to come out.  I am slightly out of my mind with anxiety.

Good luck! Telling the folks is always tricky but your therapist will there presumably so that part of it should go OK, it'll probably be afterwards where things might get interesting. Really hope it goes well for you.

Ok, so came out and  it could not have gone better. They were surprised but very accepting. They said the important thing is my happiness and they'll do everything they can to support me.  So relieved!

That is really great. I hope I can do that and it goes as well as your experience.

hey that's wonderful, congrats on this important step in your life.

This is a very cool idea. I might consider this for an option when the time comes. now just curious how'd you convince your folks to join to therapy and not mention anything about being trans? My parents would be all up on me if I took them somewhere without telling them.

Yay!  That's so wonderful to hear.  The first of many steps, but often the most emotionally difficult.

Well, they knew I was going to see a therapist (ostensibly for anxiety), and I told them that my therapist thought it would be beneficial to have a group session.  And that was that.

Thanks very good advice. Maybe I'll do the same route
