Hi everyone from Gramma G
thought I would share the announcement my son and daughter in law made that makes things official. I am so blessed to have these amazing people in my life..

On Nov 15,2001 we proudly announced the birth of our daughter Talia Abigail, however, we were informed Oct 2014 that we were mistaken! How red are our faces?! To set things straight we would like to officially and very proudly announce the birth of our SON Milo Finn. Many of those very close to us already know and accept him with love and open arms. How could you not?? With this announcement we will only refer to him as he and his name as Milo. It takes some getting used to but he understands. It's the effort that counts. We are here for him, even if it means being a voice when he can't and we will stand up for him! I don't keep random strangers in my list and you are all friends and family. He is counting on your support. He deserves to feel love and confidence and as a whole we can give him that. Not everything is black and white in this life full of grey areas. He is what he is and that's a child full of love, feeling, creativity, intelligence and potential. We love him more than life itself and it's our responsibility to see that he becomes the best he can possibly be. Part of that is helping the real him shine through without shame. On that note......Welcome to the world Milo! We love you! Xo

Thank you all.
what a great supportive place this is!!! Milo is doing great! I have noticed such a big change in him already. He has gone from being a shy, quiet little mouse that would never come out of his room, or always sit at a distance with his shirt covering his face. to a happy, chatty interactive young man with a killer sense of humour!!
There is also an amazing Teacher at school that has taken him under his wing and is researching different communities and schools to see if he can start some kind of program at the school. not sure what he has is mind, but, so very happy he has great support at school too.
love and hugs to all

wanted to share a letter from Milo's school

I just had to share a part of an email sent to me by Milo's (Talia) school councillor who keeps in touch, asks questions, has done everything in his power to help Milo feel at ease and he is still going. He thinks the world of Milo and we think the world of him.

"My meeting with Milo and our meeting with the teachers went exceptionally well today. The teachers are very supportive and are pleased to see Milo smile and look completely at ease and confident in making this transition. I've already had feedback from his PE teacher that she hadn't seen him as actively engaged and purely happy to be in class. Additionally Milo expressed a sense of relief to me that has already uplifted him in school. I'm thrilled for him."

We know things are going in the right direction for Milo and we are ready for any bumps that may arise. Family, friends, professionals and school professionals, everyone has his back and he has this new found ease that he deserves. I love to see him smile. I'm so proud of him, he is paving a way for other students who will be able to say who they are loud and proud. That makes him smile too
such amazing people Milo has in his life!!!  ;D

You're the most uplifting poster to come through the door lately, I mean that.  :)  I'm glad things are going so well for Milo.

Thank you Devlyn
I love to share Milo's journey.
In the beginning, I went into my momma bear mode and only wanted to protect him, afraid that he would be hurt or bullied, and not accepted for who he is if people ,"found out".. I was so wrong! I have seen the compassion and unconditional love and support from everyone around him and it makes my heart sing! I have seen a strong, courageous butterfly emerge from a dark lonely cocoon, A place of suffering I can only imagine.  Milo Finn is my hero!!! He has become my teacher!!
I might always be in momma bear mode, but I've pulled the claws back in! lol

Thank you for sharing the email.

It is so heartening to so many of us to know that our trans*children can have a happy secure and safe childhood, particularly as so many of us 'mature' people had childhoods from Hell, just because our gender did not match our bodies.

Again thank Milo's parents and do let them know that they are very welcome to join also and we will provide any support and help they may need.

Hugs

it's really great how supportive you're being and his parents are being. that's seriously so awesome, and it gives a lot of trans kids hope that we can be accepted in a similar way.

you, my friend, are wonderful.  :icon_yes:

Thanks for sharing your journey! (With approval from Milo of course!)  ;)
Even a "more mature" (ehem) fellow like myself can appreciate the excitement and relief Milo must feel. Especially having his grandma in his corner  8)

Kudos to you!
