Yes. She did a good job in her presentation. The deep voice caught me off guard, and then it clicked. Doesn't matter though as she is on our side. I'd rather have a well spoken transgender person on our side than on the other side. Spoke with her afterwards and thanked her for showing up with friends.

(The thread was discussing an open-carry protest on the steps of the Capitol here in WA.)

To be perfectly honest, I was surprised--flabbergasted--that a person on that site had positive words to say about a "->-bleeped-<-"...proper pronouns and everything.

I'm not into guns. I can defend myself without one. I'm also fortunate enough to live in a fairly safe area.

Wow how topical. I just applied for a concealed carry license this past month. I am just waiting for it to come in now. In Massachusetts the process involves being interviewed by the police which means they will know about my past. It scared the crap out of me but ultimately they were pretty cool about it.

I'm actually enjoying firearms training and actually a good solid half of the students are female. Firearms cross many boundaries. It's good because I got a good understanding of self defense and the law. It made me understand the tough job that police have.

I used to be pretty good with firearms, but Sweetie won't have them in the house, except for an old Japanese Mauser my dad brought back from the war and that won't fire. Wouldn't mind having another one, but between Sweetie and the local sheriff who actively discourages carry permits it won't happen soon.

I always cringe...

I do like the people who do experimental things, like shooting a 5.56 out of a 9mm pistol...they fire it remotely, of course, but I've always wondered...

Then there are the guys who do "forgotten weapons" (channel name, btw)...Maxim machine guns are much more interesting now that I know how they work!

She knows, Sweetie has always been the man of the house. I've suspected her of being trans off and on for years.

  in  relation  to  that,  when  I  applied  for  a  conciel  carry  handgun  permit,  the  prosicuter  who  reviews  the  apps,  mandated  that  I  meet  with  a  counsler  holding  a  pHD,  and  be  cleared  as  mentaly  stable  to  carry  a  firearm.   he  stated  after  im  cleared,  he  would  not  object  to  issueing  the  permit. 
 
  just  be  aware  of  that  issue  if  you  do  intend  to  move  forward  with  a  permit.

  Ive  been  involved  in  shooting  sports  since i  was  13.   I am  one  of  those  "  gun  nuts".    now  in  my  financialy  secure years,  I  still  hunt  and  shoot,  i  carry  daily, and  I  collect  . 
  in  another  chat  site,  there  were  many  trans  girls  that  also  were  firearm  enthusiests. 
in  my  family,  all  the  girls { my  two  sons  wives}  carry  and  enjoy  shooting. 
  basicaly,  thought  we  are  trans,  we  should  represent  equaly  with  non  trans  women  in  our  interests, persuits  and  hobbies .

This is actually something I hadn't thought of. My permit will be expiring most likely just after my name change. Does anyone know how this is handled? Would it be the same process as changing the name on a permit due to marriage/divorce or would they require additional things in order to allow it to be renewed because of the reason for the change?

I know in WA the permit process says it is a "shall issue", meaning the CLEO must issue the permit unless they can show legitimate reason to deny (I.e., a felony conviction, or more than 14 days involuntary commitment)...the whims of local officials are as nothing, thanks to the state govt law which "preempts" (overrules) all local anti gun laws.

When I got my name changed, it was a simple matter of getting a replacement permit, and a small fee (of course).

I was teasing about the TV term...I'm the type who would explain to those guys the differences, then over-use and exaggerate it when talking to that guy LOL
