I will assume that everyone has already heard of this marvelous program on Amazon starring Jeffrey Tambor as the transgendered Maura. Until now the program has been available to Amazon Prime members only. But this weekend, for 24 hours only, it will be free to all:

There are 10 half-hour episodes, and it's the best TV I've seen in memory (well, at least since Breaking Bad) -- and not just because it deals so beautifully and gently with trans issues. The writing, acting, and production values are simply outstanding.

If you have't seen it yet, it is worth your time to take advantage of this free look.

It's an awesome show.  Jeffrey Tambor is fantastic as Maura.  I know some people don't like a cisgender actor playing a transwoman, but Tambor is so good, and because she's at the beginning of her transition, it all works.  Plus, pretty much all the other transgender roles are actual trans actors.

It gets slow in places, and some of the stuff with the kids is whatever, but every episode gets better and better.
