Today's guest post is by Jessica Mink, a positional astronomer and software developer at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, who has written the commonly used software packages WCSTools and RVSAO and worked on a variety of astronomical projects over 40 years. Much of her story is told in this interview with the American Astronomical Society's Working Group on LGBTIQ Equality (WGLE).

  Sadly, nope. I am a serious amateur who sends data from my observations out though. I don't know Jessica nor the staff of that publication. I do know the woman who started another Woman Astronomer page, but she has not updated that page since 2008 when this one opened. She's working for a satellite monitoring firm, but is off of the grid for us who knew her.

That's still awesome. I haven't been to a star party or even much gazing these days, thanks to constant moving around and school. City blocks most of my view anyway.
